How To Choose A Knight (28 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 62
The city closest to the El Zion Kingdom—in other words, situated along the border of the Jissen Kingdom—was named ‘Lund,’ a fairly developed commercial hub.
It served as a key entry point for El Zion’s abundant fruits, grains, and alcoholic beverages into Jissen, and nearby coastal waters, chilled by cold currents, teemed with massive fish. Gutted and heavily salted, these fish became precious exports bound for the El Zion Kingdom.
But the moment the number of monsters crossed a certain threshold, the prosperous city became nothing more than the richest feeding ground.
“Good heavens, it’s pitiful.”
“Have you been here before?”
“Yes. Once, as an envoy with the diplomatic corps. Back then, I truly thought it was a breathtakingly beautiful city…”
Ives Greer kept sighing regretfully.
He couldn’t help it. Where there had once clearly been a magnificent circular plaza, only cracked and shattered tiles now lay scattered. Along the adjoining street, broken wooden stalls lay abandoned and forlorn.
In the distance, thin black smoke rose steadily from something burning—a stench unmistakably akin to death.
Compared to this place, the El Zion Kingdom might as well have been paradise.
The extermination squad walked in silence, tracing what little remained of the roads.
Suddenly, several emaciated children burst out from among the rubble and began trailing the squad, repeatedly stretching out their hands. Their faces, hollow-cheeked and sunken, were filled not with vitality but with suffering.
A few of the softer-hearted soldiers moved to give them something, but Axel shook his head.
“It’s better to give supplies directly to this city’s lord. If we indulge them now, it’ll spiral out of control. Stop.”
The knights at the front deliberately quickened their pace, and soon they arrived at the city center. There, the local lord and his retainers had already gathered, awaiting the extermination squad.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.

Axel is already secretly devoted to her. He doesn’t want to label his feelings that might inconvenience her. She on the other hand clearly understood her feelings and drew a line. Yet can’t keep those feelings in check
