How To Choose A Knight (28 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 64
Axel quietly gave his assent.
“Yes, if you’d like.”
Jade cleared her throat and absentmindedly stroked her horse’s mane. Her mount, seemingly pleased, lifted its head and gladly played along as an excuse.
The two resumed their swift ride. Having already scoured the nearby area, they headed toward a distant grove of trees—a spot where monsters seemed fond of hiding from the sunlight.
Even in the north, spring was spring; the warm sun persistently beat down, its heat seeping into the chill of the wind.
As the ride grew refreshingly cool, it was only natural for her gaze to drift and her thoughts to wander.
Attila’s jet-black hair, so dark it seemed to absorb even light itself, fluttered softly with his movements. It was shorter than when she’d first seen it in the forest, yet longer than when they’d met outside.
His straight gaze fixed on some distant point ahead. Despite his current task, his large frame appeared relaxed, tension eased away.
Noticing her stare, his eyes turned toward her—clear, silvery gray, like stars even in daylight.
Jade naturally averted her gaze.
He must have noticed, yet he asked nothing. Instead, with his large hand, he gripped the reins and adjusted his pace once more. Their shoulders—different in size and height—repeatedly drew close enough to nearly touch, then drifted apart again.
Their relationship remained ambiguous. No—more ambiguous than ever. Like hopelessly tangled threads, there was no sign of it ever unraveling.
He was Axel, yet not Axel. He possessed ample skill, yet remained a knight shrouded in mystery, keeping everyone at arm’s length with an appropriate distance—almost as if he were preparing to leave soon.
The only clear exceptions seemed to be Ives Greer, with whom he clearly shared a past, and a few fellow knights.
If that had been all, she might have resigned herself to stepping away entirely. Though her heart would ache for the fondness she once felt, she could have accepted it—perhaps assuming he intended to return to the Atanase Forest.

Male lead is a Love-Obsessed Merman
When he discovers she has gone, he risks everything to pursue her on land, enduring agonizing pain to transform his tail into human legs…

One-line summary: Male lead chases female lead. The male lead’s love is a bit sick, an invincible love brain.
Synopsis
During a voyage at sea, Jiang Yang accidentally captures a merman.
Servant: I heard that mermen are fierce and brutal.
Jiang Yang looks at the merman obediently rubbing her palm like a puppy: “You call this fierce and brutal?”
Servant: I heard that mermen have no human nature.
Jiang Yang looks at the merman with wet puppy eyes, obsessively calling her ‘A Yang’ like a childish infant: “You call this having no human nature?”
With great difficulty, she releases the merman back into the sea and returns to shore.
Who would have thought that in less than half a month, the merman, who should have been freely wandering in the South China Sea, would shed his scales, endure the pain of losing his tail, transform into human legs, and come ashore to find her?
He kneels at her feet, rubbing her palm, with merman tears rolling down: “A Yang, don’t abandon me.”
