About two weeks after our return from Talfinus, the awaited news finally arrived.

That meant the poison had already spread through Aguila.

“Good. Now send this to Vita Aguila.”

We tied a book—taken from the White Tiger’s mansion—to the leg of a large messenger hawk.

It bore the incredibly intriguing title ‘The Secrets of the Servian House,’ a book Tesmilion had read while researching the antidote to snake venom.

Naturally, it contained detailed descriptions of the venom and its symptoms. Any sections that might hint at the antidote’s formula had been cut out.

Upon reading it, Aguila would quickly realize the illness spreading among them was Servian snake venom—something only they could produce.

Once that happened, even the straightforward Vita Aguila couldn’t help but suspect Servian. If their alliance collapsed as a result, our operation would be a complete success.

Soon after, rumors spread that Vita Aguila, furious beyond measure, had sent a heap of dead snake carcasses to Servian.

Our trip to Talfinus had been worth it.
