His mother, who had given birth to Celsion, breathed her last in a beautiful green room.

The wet nurse wept, and Cardiel and Euphemia stood outside the room.

That day, a cold and frightening sound poured fiercely from beyond the window.

Celsion’s earliest memory, however, was not the moment of his birth.

His mother’s womb.

Warm, cozy, and incredibly comfortable, yet at the same time cramped and agonizing.

Often, Celsion felt the terrible pain inflicted upon himself and his mother by a man he thought of as his father.

Whenever that happened, his mother’s anxiety, which enveloped him, felt as though it might burst through his entire body.

“My little one, shall we just disappear together with Mama?”

Mama whispered those words to Celsion.

“It’ll hurt even more once you’re born. It’ll be even harder.”

Yet Celsion clung stubbornly to his mother’s womb,

until, at long last, the painful air of the world struck his tiny chest and forced him to breathe.

His mother, who had sheltered him so lovingly, however, did not hold him to the very end.
