The six coffins Hayden brought were small enough for children under ten to fit inside. Five of them had occupants, and one was empty. He lifted Ophelia, who was sorrowfully gazing at each coffin one by one, and carried her into her room.

“We’ll hold the funeral separately at a later time. Conserve your strength, Ophelia. This isn’t the moment for grief. Don’t let yourself be buried beneath sorrow that’s lasted hundreds of years.”

Hayden seemed gentle, yet his words were utterly cold. They were true, though. He easily supported Ophelia’s tall, slender but dignified frame as she staggered and helped her sit down.

“Well then, what did you bring, my lady?”

Lu couldn’t tell whether the items in the pouch she carried would truly heal Ophelia’s profound despair.

“It feels as though you’ve brought truly magnificent treasures.”

“Hmm, unfortunately, I couldn’t find the Imperial Crown.”

Ophelia gave a weak smile as she watched Lu quietly pull out the scepter.

“You really have a talent for jokes—saying that while pulling out the Dia Tu Maran. May I take a look, Your Majesty?”

Hayden nodded. Ophelia touched the scepter of the Persesta Emperor with evident delight.

“This alone is already a splendid treasure, but the magical power it holds within is also extraordinary.”

“You used it remarkably well today, my lady.”

“With this, we should be able to untie a few of those cursed knots binding you.”

Ophelia offered a faint smile.

“As for the Master of the Mage Tower…”
