I flinched my shoulders and looked downward. The little friend with brown hair tied in pigtails, whom I met when entering the underground cave, was staring up at me with wide eyes.

I crouched down to meet the child’s gaze and asked. The child fidgeted with her hands hesitantly before answering.

“Just… Rio isn’t waking up…”

Rio? Oh, she must mean her twin brother, Lionel. I glanced back at the sled where the rescued children were riding.

Thankfully, all eight kidnapped children were safe, but they were under a sleep spell, deeply asleep. Except for Leoni, who was here.
