“Still, he must have been a truly awful knight, right? To be so easily defeated by a child barely ten years old.”

On that point, I could answer with absolute certainty. Harold had resigned from his knighthood before House Fennel’s downfall—precisely because of the humiliation of losing to Ricardo.

“What does he sell?”

He barraged me with questions without giving me a moment to think. I clenched my teeth, genuinely wishing he’d go back to that indifferent, almost statue-like self I knew before.
