Date Me! (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 8
“What? Vulgar?”
“Yeah! What? Are you stuck on me? Stuck on me? Is your brain filled with nothing but filthy thoughts?”
“This is really…”
Jung Hoon glared at Lee I Na with a fierce voice.
“And you—I clearly told you this morning not to come find me again, didn’t I? So why are you here again, causing this commotion? This whole scene?”
“This morning?”
Joo Won, who had been standing behind until now, pulled Lee I Na by the arm to stand her beside him and asked.
“This bastard came to see you this morning?”
At Joo Won’s menacing tone, Jung Hoon looked back and forth between the two with an incredulous expression and let out a bitter laugh.
“Ha. Are these two… really insane? Cheating on me and yet acting all righteous with this dirty affair…”
But before Jung Hoon could even finish his sentence, Joo Won grabbed his wrist and twisted it.
“Argh!”
Holding Jung Hoon’s wrist as he shrieked, Joo Won growled out,
“Didn’t I just tell you to watch your mouth?”
“Hey! You crazy bastard! Let go of me right now!”
At Jung Hoon’s roaring voice, Lee I Na flinched and looked nervously up at the villa.
It felt as if someone might open a window and look down at any moment.
Lee I Na hurriedly intervened, pulling Joo Won away and shaking off Jung Hoon’s wrist.
Staggering backward, Jung Hoon glared at the two of them with furious eyes.
“These two are completely… both of you are insane! Hey! Seo I Na! You knew this bastard even before meeting me, didn’t you? You played both sides the whole time yet acted so high and mighty? Hey! Since when have you two known each other? Tell me!”
As Joo Won moved to grab Jung Hoon by the collar, Lee I Na quickly stepped between them and shot Jung Hoon a sharp look.
“Hey! Since when we’ve known each other—is it really any of your business?”
“What? ‘We’? ‘We~e’?”
Jung Hoon’s eyes widened as he repeated.
“Yes! We!”
“Ha! So you’ve finally confessed! Since when? How long have you two known each other? Tell me!”
“Ten years!”
At Lee I Na’s sudden shout, Jung Hoon’s eyes bulged.
“What? Ten… ten years?”
Jung Hoon stared at her with disbelief.
“Yes! I’ve liked this person for ten years. So what?”
At Lee I Na’s words, Jung Hoon’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.
Joo Won was just as stunned by her unexpected declaration.
He glanced sideways at Lee I Na, who continued without pause.
“Ten years ago, I confessed to this person and we dated for three years. Then he had to emigrate, so we had no choice but to break up. I spent the next seven years crying from missing him. I tried everything to forget him, but I just couldn’t. After that, I lived like a wreck—until I met you out of sheer loneliness. But I was an idiot. No matter how lonely I was, I couldn’t even tell good from bad and ended up with someone like you.”
“What… what are you even saying?”
Jung Hoon’s lips trembled.
Beside him, Joo Won’s eyes narrowed slightly as he watched Lee I Na’s impassioned performance.
Had Seo I Na… really possessed this kind of talent?
Had she dreamed of becoming an actress as a kid?
Her acting was so convincing that even Joo Won almost believed her for a moment.
But quickly regaining his composure, he stared at Lee I Na before him.
He had to help her—she was glaring at Jung Hoon with burning anger.
Yet joining her act outright felt awkward, yet ignoring such a masterful performance also felt wrong.
As he hesitated, Lee I Na raised her left hand and suddenly gripped Joo Won’s right hand tightly.
Both Jung Hoon and Joo Won looked down at their joined hands—
Jung Hoon with wide-open eyes, Joo Won with a puzzled look.
“But thanks to you, I miraculously got to meet him again. I didn’t even know he’d returned to Korea—he said he came back that very day. On his way to meet friends that evening, he saw some trash dragging a woman along and stepped in to help. And that woman happened to be me. Isn’t that incredible? Do you know what people call this? They call it fate.”
As she finished speaking, Lee I Na tightened her grip on Joo Won’s hand.
Yet despite her bold words, Joo Won could feel her hand trembling slightly.
Trending
Slowly, deliberately, he interlaced his fingers with hers and gently enclosed her hand in his warmth.
Looking up at him with wide eyes, Lee I Na saw Joo Won curl the corner of his lips into a smile.
Witnessing this, Jung Hoon let out a scornful laugh.
“Ha… these two really are…”
Running his hands through his hair, Jung Hoon laughed like a man truly losing his mind.
“What? Fate? What nonsense is this?”
“Yes. Fate. Ten years ago, it was fate I created through my own will—but this time, it’s fate brought about thanks to you.”
At Lee I Na’s words, Jung Hoon shouted with bloodshot eyes,
“What? Fate? So you’re happy about it? Because it’s ‘fate,’ you’re happy? So you spent the whole weekend rolling around with this guy and didn’t even come home, is that it? Huh?”
In an instant, Joo Won lunged forward and grabbed Jung Hoon by the collar.
Just as he was about to throw a punch with furious eyes, Lee I Na wrapped her arms around his waist and cried out,
“Honey! Don’t!”
At her shout, Joo Won’s fist froze mid-air, and Jung Hoon stared at Lee I Na with the look of a soul ripped from his body.
Joo Won looked down at Lee I Na clinging to his waist, and she shook her head.
“He’s not even worth hitting. Please don’t, honey.”
Gazing into Lee I Na’s hazel eyes as she whispered, Joo Won slowly lowered his fist.
Watching this, Jung Hoon began laughing hysterically like a madman.
“Ha, hahaha! Honey? You’re already calling him ‘honey’? Hahaha!”
Ignoring him, Lee I Na released Joo Won’s waist and fixed Jung Hoon with a sharp glare.
“This is your final warning. If you come near me again after this moment, I’ll pull up the CCTV footage and file a dating violence complaint. I’ll even bring witnesses if needed to testify how obsessively and suffocatingly you treated me while we were together. So don’t ever show me that face again.”
Looking at the stunned Jung Hoon as if he were a bug, Lee I Na grabbed Joo Won’s hand and pulled him along.
Joo Won shot Jung Hoon one last glare before walking off with Lee I Na.
But before they’d taken more than a few steps, Jung Hoon shouted,
“Hey!”
Lee I Na turned around with an annoyed expression, and Jung Hoon, furious and shaking, pointed at her and trembled.
“You… how can you do this to me? You never once invited me into your home… but this bastard—you bring him home the moment you reunite? You shameless woman…”
Before Jung Hoon could finish, Joo Won strode over and kicked his shin with all his strength.
“Ah!”
Jung Hoon grabbed his reddened shin, hopping in pain before collapsing to the ground.
Too pained to even scream, he just writhed, and Joo Won looked down at him coldly.
“If you ever talk trash about I Na again, I’ll personally knock your teeth out. Remember that.”
Faced with Joo Won’s towering, threatening glare, Jung Hoon flinched.
After one last icy stare at Jung Hoon, Joo Won took Lee I Na’s hand and walked back toward the villa’s main gate.
Though Jung Hoon looked as if he might chase after them and yell again, he made no move.
The two entered the elevator in silence, still holding hands.
But as soon as the elevator doors closed, reality crashed back in.
Lee I Na bit her lip in embarrassment and glanced sideways at Joo Won, who stared straight ahead with a stiff expression.
Her eyes drifted downward to their tightly clasped hands.
She should let go now…
But suddenly pulling away would be awkward too—just as she was thinking this, the elevator reached the third floor.
They stepped out in silence.
Only then did Joo Won gently release Lee I Na’s hand and walk over to the villa window, peering outside.
Lee I Na followed his gaze out the window.
They saw Jung Hoon limping to his feet, trembling as he walked toward his car.
Yet for some reason, the car didn’t start right away.
He seemed to just sit there without even turning on the engine.
It was obvious he was grinding his teeth in fury.
And since Jung Hoon had clearly seen them holding hands and coming upstairs together, Joo Won couldn’t just leave right away.
After a brief pause, Lee I Na furrowed her brow and carefully said to Joo Won, who was still glaring at Jung Hoon’s car,
“Um… Joo Won…”

At her voice, Joo Won turned and looked at her.
“Um… Do you want to come in and have a cup of coffee or something?”
Joo Won silently gazed at her, then nodded.
“Sure. Yeah, give me one.”
Lee I Na walked to her front door, tapped her card key, and quickly assessed the situation in her head.
She’d come by last night to clean, and tidied up again this morning before leaving—so it should be fine, right?
Convinced it was okay, she opened the door.
“Come in.”
Lee I Na stepped inside first, took off her shoes, and said to Joo Won,
“Yeah, I’ll just come in, then.”
Joo Won removed his shoes and stepped into the living room.
The moment he entered, Lee I Na felt strangely self-conscious.
It was the first time she’d ever brought a man into her home alone.
Her cousin Young Min sometimes came over to stay the night, but Joo Won was a full-grown man—and somehow that made her nervous.
Unaware of her inner turmoil, Joo Won calmly scanned the apartment.
It looked cozy and neat at a glance.
Small, charming décor pieces were scattered here and there.
Somehow, the delicate atmosphere suited Lee I Na perfectly.
“Um… What kind of coffee do you want? I have black or instant…”
Lee I Na asked Joo Won cautiously.
“Black, please. Thanks.”
“Okay, just sit for a sec.”
Lee I Na put down her handbag and went into the kitchen.
Joo Won sat on the sofa, and soon Lee I Na returned with coffee.
“Here.”
She handed a cup to Joo Won and sat beside him with her own.
“Thanks.”
Joo Won took the cup and sipped.
Lee I Na also took a sip, enjoying the subtle aroma, then carefully spoke after a moment.
“Um… Joo Won. I’m sorry.”
Joo Won turned to look at her.
“For what?”
“That… earlier, with Park Jung Hoon—I just blurted out whatever came into my head, going with the flow… I’m really sorry.”
“Why would that be something to apologize for?”
Now Lee I Na turned to look at him.
“…Huh?”
“With a guy like that, it might actually be better to shock him like that. Besides, for something ‘off the top of your head,’ your quick thinking and wit were absolutely perfect.”
Lee I Na blinked, staring at him.
“You’re seriously good at acting. For a moment, even I almost believed we were lovers reunited after ten years.”
As Joo Won smiled with the corner of his lips, Lee I Na’s cheeks suddenly burned.
Embarrassed, she found herself searching for a nonexistent mousehole—when Joo Won continued,
“But if it’s been ten years, that means we were in our third year of high school, right? That guy’s gonna say, ‘Were you two skipping studying just to date back then?’”
He chuckled to himself after saying it.
Lee I Na realized he was right—and burst into laughter too.
After finishing his coffee, Joo Won went out onto the balcony and looked down. Lee I Na followed.
Jung Hoon’s car was still parked right where it had been.
“Why hasn’t he left yet?”
Lee I Na frowned.
“I want to go down and chase him off right now, but it’s too late. We already caused enough commotion earlier.”
“Yeah, it is pretty late.”

Joo Won looked silently downward for a while, then turned to Lee I Na.
“So… would it be okay if I stayed here tonight?”
Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?
[Small Theater]
The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
