It had already been several days since the fight with Ga Eul.

Gi Tae was at BYN, the bar he’d been visiting frequently ever since Ju Hyuk called him out.

After the wedding, Ju Hyuk had returned from his honeymoon and spent his days busy with all sorts of matters. Thus, it had been a long time since he’d seen Gi Tae.

He’d also wanted to hand over souvenirs he’d brought back from the honeymoon and check in on his friend after such a long while—but this friend clearly hadn’t come prepared to listen, even out of courtesy.

Ju Hyuk, leaning back against the sofa, watched Gi Tae covering his face with his arms before finally blurting out,

“Hey, Han Gi Tae. Are you even listening to me?”

‘Did I drag him here too forcefully?’

Unusually, Gi Tae had suggested postponing their meetup, yet Ju Hyuk kept calling and whining.

“Why don’t you just drink like usual or something? What are you even doing? It’s draining just watching you.”

Rarely, Ju Hyuk clicked his tongue in annoyance. He’d always prided himself on vaguely knowing everything about his decade-long friend—but today, he couldn’t even guess what was wrong.

“Right. You must be swamped with work lately. It’s tough, huh? I heard everything from your dad—said you’re as busy as ever. No, even busier than before.”

“……”

“At this rate, you’re so obsessed with work you’re probably inventing tasks out of thin air. Take it easy, okay?”

Assuming it was work-related, Ju Hyuk muttered this and lightly patted Gi Tae’s shoulder—only for a small box to tumble from Gi Tae’s jacket pocket onto the floor. The nudge from Ju Hyuk had just barely dislodged it.

Spotting the red velvet box, Ju Hyuk said to Gi Tae,
