Ga Eul eventually stood up without even touching the cake.

Seeing Ga Eul still so shy, Gi Tae quietly chuckled behind her as she walked ahead of him.

An urge to tease her further suddenly surged, but fearing she might run away from him, he restrained himself and walked toward the car.

The two got into the car to retrace their steps back the way they’d come.

“I forgot some documents at the office—I need to drop by quickly.”

He’d spaced out on something he needed to bring because he’d been so focused on Ga Eul. At Gi Tae’s words, Ga Eul smiled and nodded.

“Okay, then let’s go to the gallery first.”

“Alright.”

Relieved that their date had gone smoothly like any ordinary day, Gi Tae felt at ease. Unlike their hurried rush to the reserved restaurant earlier, the return trip felt comfortable. Both Ga Eul and Gi Tae were smiling.

Arriving in front of the gallery, Gi Tae stepped out from the driver’s seat. Ga Eul followed and got out from the passenger side. Watching her, Gi Tae paused briefly and asked,

“Why? You’re just going to come right back down—why not stay in the car?”

“I just… wanted to follow you.”

“Alright, let’s go up together.”
