Gi Tae, who had been murmuring softly, suddenly captured her fluttering lips before her eyes. Those lips, which had been so irritating moments ago, now quieted her nerves as if they’d never caused a stir. Amidst it all, their mingling breaths tasted sweet, as if they’d bitten into ripe fruit.

Ga Eul’s wide eyes, startled at first, slowly drifted shut. A flush crept across her pale, makeup-free cheeks, tinting them the soft hue of a peach.

At some point, that clear, unadorned face had begun to draw his gaze. Seeing her close her eyes and quietly respond to his kiss only intensified his thirst—so much so that Gi Tae turned his head away briefly before diving in deeper.

Her awkward, inexperienced kiss—still unable to keep pace—was strangely stimulating.

How long had their lips been joined? Gi Tae, entirely absorbed with no room for other thoughts, finally released Ga Eul’s lips after a long while.

Her small lips exhaled a held breath, glistening even in the darkness.

Slowly, Gi Tae stole a light touch across her lips with his thumb and asked,

“How was it?”

I think I know now.

His words, though tossed out as if giving her a chance to confirm, instead solidified his own feelings.

When she didn’t reply immediately, his hand—resting on the passenger seat’s backrest—began tapping irregularly against the leather. Ga Eul’s mouth finally opened, ever so slowly.

“I’m sleepy…”

Gi Tae let out a chuckle, nearly a scoff, and slumped back against the driver’s seat. His sharp nerves seemed worn thin, his will utterly drained; he covered his face with his arm.

“…What am I even doing, holding onto a drunk girl?”
