Ga Eul, who had been in the studio again until late tonight, suddenly glanced toward the door. Her gaze lingered not on her painting, as usual, but on the teapot—something unusual for her today.

“Maybe he won’t come today.”
Except for that one day when he’d offered advice on her painting, he always came and went whenever he pleased.
So there was no guarantee he’d show up today either.
Ga Eul stood up briefly, brushing off her seat, and checked the painting she’d flipped over earlier—the scenery from the day they’d walked hand in hand.
The image had already taken shape clearly enough to unmistakably evoke a tender couple strolling through a flower garden.
She’d drawn exactly what she remembered… so why did it convey this particular feeling? Perhaps because she’d painted it joyfully—this was the result. For some reason, her cheeks grew warm.
It seemed the memory she’d held of that day had, after all, been rather cheerful and tingling with excitement.
Feeling suddenly shy, Ga Eul scratched her already flushed cheek, yet she intended to finish the painting no matter what. If possible, she even wanted to include it in the exhibition.
She had a feeling this painting would make viewers smile, despite its noticeably unfamiliar style compared to her usual work.
For some reason today, her mind wandered restlessly, like grasping at drifting clouds.
Ga Eul pulled out an 8-cut sketchbook she hadn’t touched in ages. Since she couldn’t focus anyway, she decided to just doodle—something completely unrelated to the exhibition.
Doing something other than what she was supposed to do always felt fun. A smile crept onto Ga Eul’s face at this rare indulgence.
