Couples in Love (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 15
When Sunwoo came back from washing up in the bathroom next to the bedroom, a mattress and blanket were neatly laid out on the floor.
It seemed Green had yielded the bed to Sunwoo and prepared to sleep on the floor herself.
Despite Green’s thoughtfulness, Sunwoo didn’t like the mattress and blanket on the floor. He folded them in half with his foot and pushed them into the corner.
“Did you do this, Sunwoo?”
Green, who had just finished showering in the bathroom in the living room, saw the folded mattress and blanket pushed into the corner and asked in confusion.
Sunwoo leaned back comfortably against the headboard.
“We’re not going straight to sleep anyway, are we? I have a lot I want to hear from you, Green.”
“Sunwoo, aren’t you tired?”
“I am tired, but because of the time difference, I can’t fall asleep.”
He pushed the blanket aside and patted the spot next to him with his palm.
“Come sit here too, Green. And spill everything. The diet story and everything about how your father made things hard for you.”
He knew it was late, but he still wanted to listen to Green’s story now.
Saying he had been too busy with work in Marseille for the past year and had no time to care for her was just an excuse.
He had been bothered by how Green was getting thinner and thinner, but he was so busy taking care of himself that he deliberately ignored it.
He had fully anticipated how viciously Jin Young Cheol, who lost the election, would torment Green, yet he forcibly suppressed his anxiety, telling himself it would be fine.
Looking back, he had no choice but to admit he had been too insensitive.
Sunwoo, deciding to focus on her words now, spoke in the gentlest tone he could manage. But Green’s eyes, as she looked at him, were filled with wariness.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
“I usually try to respect your preferences, Sunwoo, but… could you maybe put on some pajamas?”
Only then did Sunwoo realize his own state. After showering, as usual, he was wearing only a bathrobe over his bare body.
Green was desperately trying not to let her gaze linger on the tanned chest muscles visible through the open robe. She was certain he wasn’t wearing anything underneath!
“I put this on because you’re here…”
Green was startled by Sunwoo’s rather shameless answer.
“Th-then what do you do when you’re alone?”
“…Do you really want to know?”
“No, never mind!”
As Sunwoo’s eyes turned mischievous, Green shouted. She didn’t think he actually slept completely naked, but for a moment, the image flashed through her mind.
Compared to a year ago, Sunwoo seemed to have lost a little weight too, but his body looked even firmer and better.
She was also curious whether the parts hidden by the bathrobe were the same attractive tanned color as the teasingly revealed chest muscles.
‘Hot damn, what am I thinking!’
Green shook her head vigorously as if chasing away a lewd demon and sat down on the blanket Sunwoo had pushed into the corner.
“I’ll talk from here.”
Sunwoo, who rarely teased but found her flustered reaction amusing, judged that she was keeping her distance because of his attire and reluctantly stood up.
“I’ll go change.”
A moment later, Sunwoo returned to the bedroom neatly dressed in pajamas.
When he patted the spot next to him again, Green could no longer refuse.
Carefully moving to sit beside him and leaning against the headboard, Green pondered for a moment where to begin.
“To help Sunwoo understand, I think I should start with the story of my friends Jenny and Hanna.”
Green talked about meeting Jenny and Hanna when she was twenty, and how right after the wedding, her mother-in-law In Young gave her 8 million won a month as a dignity maintenance allowance.
She explained asking stylist Hanna for help to meet In Young’s expectations, and how actress Jenny deliberately played the role of a chaebol daughter-in-law to make sponsorships easier.
“Amazing friends. You really are a lucky person, Green.”
“After losing weight like Hanna told me to, I could appear perfectly dressed at every event Mother called me to. Even you would have thought I looked pretty, Sunwoo.”
Green smiled playfully and winked. Then she lifted her chin proudly.
“I saw them too.”
“You did, Sunwoo? How?”
The chin that had been haughtily raised immediately lowered humbly, and her eyes shook with unease.
“The photos from the gatherings related to K1 Construction—Secretary Na Mi Ran sent them to me. Three times?”
“…How were they?”
“They felt unfamiliar. So much that I wondered if that woman was really the one I married. But when I looked closely, it was definitely you.”
“Oh, come on!”

Without thinking, Green smacked Sunwoo’s arm. Even after being hit, Sunwoo just smiled softly, but then his expression turned slightly melancholic.
“When I first received the photos, I was relieved thinking you were adapting well. But with the second and third photos, I got worried because you had lost so much weight.”
Realizing Sunwoo had been feeling guilty all along, Green suddenly wanted to comfort him.
Thanks to being married to Sunwoo, she could put her mom in a VIP hospital room, so everything she endured because of Jin Young Cheol was worth it.
“I was doing much better than Sunwoo worried.”
“Really?”
At Sunwoo’s tone that didn’t seem to fully trust her words, Green hurriedly added,
“It’s true. Every month when I saw the hospital and living expenses you sent, I thought I had to do my absolute best in return.”
Looking at Sunwoo still wearing a bitter smile, Green wanted to make him laugh again.
“So you only saw three photos of my transformation? Want to see the rest?”
“Can I?”
“Of course. I took selfies of them all.”
Green brought over the tablet PC from beside the vanity. Sunwoo leaned his head close to hers and looked through the photos one by one.
The three photos he had already seen were included, but there were far more images of Green that he didn’t know. He stared at them with utterly fascinated eyes.
“As expected, the photo from the first gathering resembles the Green I remember the most.”
With the tablet in the center, their heads gradually drew closer in an affectionate way. Suddenly, Green realized his breath was touching the nape of her neck.
Startled, she turned her head and saw his handsome face right next to hers. Fortunately, his gaze was fixed on the photos, so he didn’t notice her agitation.
Green quickly straightened her back to create some distance from him.
“That was less than two months after I started personal training.”
Smiling awkwardly, Green frowned as she recalled the pressure of that first gathering.
“The very first event was a charity bazaar hosted by Mother. She told me to donate any of my things, but of course I didn’t have anything worthy of donating there, right?”
“So what did you do?”
“At first I thought about buying a luxury bag from a second-hand market, but Jenny donated a fur coat she didn’t wear anymore. And do you know what the real jackpot was?”
“What?”
“That the fur was tiger. Not leopard print—real tiger fur!”
“That must have been insanely expensive?”
“Of course! Over 50 million won, and apparently only four came into the country.”
Hearing the price of the fur, Sunwoo let out a short whistle of admiration.
“For Jenny to donate that for you, she must be incredibly generous.”
“She inherited several buildings in Gangnam from her father, so acting is pretty much just a hobby for her. Anyway, after donating that tiger coat, I totally became a star at the bazaar.”
Sunwoo listened with interest to her chattering story and smiled silently. Seeing the smile she had wanted, Green’s heart beat faster with satisfaction.
“I did feel like I passed the first test well. At first she called me once every two months, but the number of gatherings gradually increased, and there were times I went three times a month.”
Even while frowning as if it was a headache, Green couldn’t hide her pride at being acknowledged by In Young, just as she had boasted to Sunwoo when they made the contract.
Sunwoo smiled as if he found her reaction amusing. It was the first time since he was nine that he had laughed so defensely, though he himself didn’t realize it.
Thrilled just by his laughing face, Green wanted to make him laugh more.
“Sunwoo, I have a photo of Jenny wearing the exact same outfit as me—want to see?”
“Sure.”
Green also showed him the photos of Jenny saved on the tablet.
Jenny wore the exact same clothes, shoes, accessories, and bags that Green had worn, took photos, and posted them on SNS every time.
Since Green shot them professionally as paparazzi-style cuts, the sponsors loved it.
Same clothes, same shoes, same bag—but the vibe between Green and Jenny was completely different.
At first excited to show Jenny’s photos, Green gradually slowed down flipping through them.
‘…I shouldn’t have shown him.’
She had basically made Sunwoo compare top actress Jenny with ordinary citizen herself—it felt like an incredibly stupid thing to do.
“Jenny is tall, so clothes naturally look better on her, right?”
Green, slightly embarrassed, closed the tablet screen.
“That’s true.”
When Sunwoo agreed with her, she suddenly found him annoying. There is such a thing as white lies in this world.
“But didn’t you say Hanna styled these specifically for you? That’s probably why you look perfect in every photo, while Jenny’s photos have some awkward parts.”
“Really?”

“I think the flaws are mostly hidden in Jenny’s photos because a professional like you took them. If Jenny had taken selfies, the awkwardness would have stood out even more.”
Watching Sunwoo nod seriously without a single gram of falsehood, Green couldn’t help but beam widely.
Suddenly she quite liked that he was the type who couldn’t tell even a white lie.
“Yes, thank you for the very subjective and biased review.”
“Hey, I am a very objective and fair person.”
“Sure, sure.”
When Green answered playfully, Sunwoo laughed and snatched her tablet. Then he opened the photo folder and started looking through them again from the beginning.
“It really is fascinating.”
“What is?”
“The suit gives an intellectual feel, hanbok looks incredibly elegant, and party dresses are somehow sexy…”
“R-really?”
“The Green in the crimson mini dress today was really cute. It’s amazing how much a person can change depending on the clothes.”
Sunwoo’s voice gradually slowed and sank lower, as if faintly recalling yesterday’s Green.
Green’s heart was pounding so hard she couldn’t bring herself to look at his face. Pretending to be casual, she rubbed the bedsheet with her index finger and asked,
“What’s your type, Sunwoo? Elegant Green? Sexy Green? Cute Green?”
“…”
When there was no answer from Sunwoo, Green glanced at him. Absurdly, he had fallen asleep, his head nodding.
Feeling deflated, Green chuckled and wondered how to get this big man properly onto the bed.
At that moment, Sunwoo’s head suddenly dropped onto Green’s shoulder.
Male lead is a Divorced Husband
She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!
――
This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”
