Swallowing a dry gulp, Priest Ankedo quietly moved to a place where he could safely burn the letter. He always immediately burned and destroyed letters from his clients.

The letter burst into flames.

“What’s the matter?”

“There’s something I need you to do. About that heiress of Armenuaka who came and went yesterday—look into her background. Find out whether she’s dangerous or not.”

At the mention of Orentia, the priest gave a puzzled look.

“Why would she…?”

“That’s none of your concern. I’ve just grown a bit curious, that’s all.”
