“But even if he heard it, there’s nothing we can do about it.”

Right now, the most important thing was to ask Count Odor for help. That thought alone kept circling in my head.

Orentia, feeling desperate, was about to speak—but Count Odor spoke first, asking for permission.

“My niece seems to have something urgent to discuss. May we go in first?”

Dimidius readily nodded his head.

“Yes. I’ll return to my room. Please speak freely.”

Dimidius walked away with long strides, ascending the stairs. It was truly fortunate that he didn’t pretend to know me further. For some reason, I didn’t want it revealed in front of Count Odor that he and I were acquainted.

Once Dimidius disappeared, Count Odor called out sternly.

“What on earth is going on? What are you even talking about!”

“This isn’t something to discuss in such an open place. Let’s go to your study or bedroom, Uncle.”

“Why are you acting like this? Honestly!”

Though Count Odor complained, he followed Orentia into his study as she suggested. He didn’t forget to summon his aide either. After ordering the aide to search the Centmi River, the count turned to Orentia.

“Is this good enough now? Speak quickly. You must tell me everything honestly, without holding anything back.”

Usually so friendly, yet at times like this, he suddenly played the strict uncle.

Orentia revealed all the truths she had witnessed and learned that day as seriously as possible. She wondered how her uncle would react—after all, the priests at Odor Main Cathedral had laughed out loud clutching their stomachs when she mentioned Priest Ankedo.
