“Hmm. It’s cold.”

A faint, barely audible voice muttered. Before Ji Ho could even extend his arm, the sensation pressing against him reminded him of the cat he’d kept as a child.

Back when Nabi went to Cat Heaven, she’d curl up on his bed every dawn, coiling her body into a perfect circle. He hadn’t felt this kind of warmth and softness in ages—

so deeply comforting he never wanted to wake up.

Ever since taking on the special investigation, Ji Ho hadn’t slept more than four hours a day.

His daily routine was collapsing into unconsciousness without even a moment to dream.

Perhaps dreaming like this today was a luxury—after all, he’d passed out from exhaustion, his vision blurring as he’d worked himself into the ground.
