Ji Ho mentally traced the white truck’s route.

The distance and time from the tollgate, through the national highway, to the accident site. It wasn’t rush hour, nor a busy road—yet the truck seemed to vanish completely, leaving a four-hour gap as if it had evaporated and reappeared.

“The location isn’t suitable for the suspect to claim they slept for four hours.”

Not only was there no rest area nearby, but the national highway narrowed, leaving no shoulder. Additionally, rice fields lined with guardrails stretched alongside the road.

What if the suspect had pre-selected a blind spot unseen by CCTV—a place where they could watch and wait near the accident scene? He considered this possibility. This wasn’t an unexpected accident, but a thoroughly planned crime. There was more than one suspicious detail.

“Also, at the time, the accident site was two hours away from the suspect’s residence.”

“Yes, that’s correct.”

“According to the records, they didn’t go there for work reasons either.”

The suspect had stated they’d suffered business failure leading to family discord, drank alone, and then got behind the wheel.

A place with no personal connections and no relation to work—was it really plausible they’d driven aimlessly out of sadness and caused an accident? And waited four full hours just to hit Ra Jin’s mother’s car?

The more Ji Ho thought about it, the more question marks filled his mind.

“What was the suspect’s life like after release?”

“I’m not sure about the details, but every time they caused another accident afterward, they settled it smoothly—so they even made it through probation without issues.”

“Then, is their current lawyer court-appointed?”

“No. They hired a lawyer who specializes exclusively in traffic-related criminal cases.”
