Changing the Keywords of the Dark Lords (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 6
“It’s exactly as I just said. My name is Delina Floren. I’m twelve years old. I have an older twin brother, and my parents are deceased. Right now, my uncle is acting as my guardian.”
Investigating Delina was a trivial matter in Wolfirim. They had learned even the name of the shop she usually frequented within just a few hours of starting the inquiry. Yet the information Bellion truly wanted remained elusive.
“Any places where information from the ducal house might have leaked?”
“As far as we’ve found so far, absolutely none. She’s just an ordinary teenage girl—nothing particularly talented about her, nor is she especially agile.”
“…….”
How could she look so genuinely shocked after using the passage herself? Both recalled Delina lying face-down on the floor.
“It seems we have no choice but to ask her directly. And… it really doesn’t seem she came here to assassinate anyone, just as she claimed. I saw her myself yesterday—she couldn’t possibly defeat even a well-trained five-year-old, let alone His Grace.”
Bellion actually thought the same. What assassin would announce their arrival so conspicuously? Moreover, when told the passage required blood to activate, the girl had clearly looked surprised—proof she didn’t know the secret fully.
“But we can’t just let it go.”
“Right. It wouldn’t be right to simply release her like this… Oh, or should we torture her?”
“…….”
“We’ll use a truly horrifying form of torture that children especially hate. For example, removing the sweet dessert from her meal. She’d spill everything after just a few meals. Or showing her two candies but letting her eat only one….”
“Shut your mouth.”
“Yes.”
After a brief silence, as if lost in thought, Bellion finally spoke.
“Have her take the test.”
Felick’s eyes widened at those words.
“Her, my lady? Are you really going to sponsor her? And right away today?”
“Today is perfect.”
“Oh, surely not….”
Felick recalled the four children arriving today—the ones who hardly seemed like children at all.
“You’re going to have her face all four of them?”
“…….”
“In my opinion, even one would crush her.”
How could that ordinary girl possibly stand against children whose combat skills far surpassed those of average adults? Felick clicked his tongue sympathetically.
“She came here on her own whim, so the test must match that.”
“…….”
“And if she fails to pass, then immediately….”
Kill her.
Though Bellion left the last word unsaid, Felick knew exactly what he meant.
After all, wasn’t his master always sharp as a blade in such matters? Felick knew this better than anyone. In truth, merely allowing the girl—who showed no talent whatsoever—to take the test was Bellion’s final act of mercy.
“Understood. I’ll prepare everything right away.”
She was rather an interesting young lady, after all.
Felick replied inwardly regretful.
“Ugh….”
The first thing Delina saw when she opened her eyes the next day was a stone ceiling. After staring at it quietly for a moment, she abruptly sat up.
When had she fallen asleep?
Turning her head, she was greeted by iron bars. Delina instantly realized her situation.
“That’s right… I was locked up here….”
The wolf pack attack, arriving at the ducal manor, and then tumbling right into the duke’s bedroom of all places… Delina let out a small sigh at these events that sounded like something out of a dream.
The prison looked just as bleak in daylight as it did at night. Awkwardly glancing around her cell, Delina noticed the plate set before her. True to their word about dessert, a rather delicious-looking cake sat beside her meal.
This vividly brought yesterday’s events back to mind, making her truly feel once more that she was indeed in the ducal house. Delina flopped back down onto the floor.
‘I wonder if there’s chaos back home too.’
By now, everyone must have realized she’d disappeared. She was curious how they’d react. Though she didn’t care about people like Niel or Charlotte, she did worry about the servants who’d looked after her since childhood.
‘My brother must have seen it too.’
She couldn’t guess what he was thinking right now as he read that note. But Delina was determined to survive—more tenaciously than anyone else—and never let such a tragedy happen again.
“Oh, you’re awake, my lady?”
While lost in thought, a refreshingly cheerful voice came from beyond the bars. Recognizing the speaker immediately, Delina slowly turned to look at the approaching figure.
“Why haven’t you eaten? I specifically asked them to prepare a particularly delicious dessert for you.”
“…I’m afraid I might get indigestion.”
Trending
It was almost laughable to see such a tasty cake in a situation where she didn’t even know if she’d live or die. Yet Felick still held the plate out to her.
“Still, my lady, you need to eat heartily if you want to leave.”
“I’m leaving?”
At the word “leave,” Delina sprang up from her spot.
“Well, you will be leaving… but I have one good piece of news and one bad piece for you. Which would you like to hear first?”
“…The good news?”
“The good news is you’ll be taking the sponsor selection test you wanted.”
“Really?”
Delina’s eyes sparkled as she pressed herself against the bars, thrilled that her desired situation had actually come to pass.
“Yes. You’ll be competing against others sponsored by His Grace. All you need to do is survive.”
“Survive? And others—you mean more than one?”
“Yes. There are four in total. Though, for now, they’re all around your age.”
“…That’s really encouraging.”
What did “same age” matter? They were surely children who could defeat even adults. Delina’s hand, gripping the bars, slid down as if slipping away.
“Then can you tell me who those children are?”
“I’m sorry, but I can’t. Some of the children sponsored by His Grace have hidden identities.”
Of course. That’s why, even in the future, she only learned much later that all five of them had been raised within the ducal house.
“Then what’s the bad news?”
“The bad news is… if you fail the test….”
Felick trailed off, drawing a finger across his throat. Delina’s expression hardened as she watched.
“I’ll die.”
“Yes. You’ll die.”
Felick soon unlocked the cell door with a key. Delina, who had been silently watching him, slowly stepped out of the cell.
“You’ll take the test immediately upon leaving. Are you sure you’ll be fine without eating?”
“Yes. I’ll come back to eat later. Please leave it for me.”
‘I won’t die. I absolutely won’t die.’
Delina had no intention of dying whatsoever. Yet the situation was undeniably dire, and she needed a way out. Her steps toward the testing ground were heavy, but she tried not to show it.
“…….”
Soon, Bellion appeared in the distance. Unlike last night when he’d worn sleepwear, he was now properly dressed, with various weapons scattered around him.
“You’ve heard from Felick, I assume.”
“Yes.”
“Choose one and take it.”
‘Weapons….’
Delina reached for a sword that looked light among the assortment. But….
“Don’t you have a smaller knife than this?”
“No.”
Even the lightest blade felt extremely heavy to Delina—so much so her arm trembled. She tried other weapons, but they were just as heavy. Soon, Delina spoke earnestly.
“…Does running away count as a talent too?”
“As long as you endure, anything goes.”
But the testing ground was enclosed on all sides. Running away had its limits, and she’d likely be caught within seconds anyway. Delina finally picked up the smallest stick with solemn resolve. Watching her, Bellion spoke.
“You must have another talent—making people laugh.”
“Huh?”
“Like a jester.”
“…….”
Damn it.
She was frustrated, but his words were true. Taking a test when she couldn’t even lift a light knife was already ridiculous. Still, Delina gripped the stick firmly.
“Really, if I just endure, you’ll sponsor me?”
Instead of words, Bellion simply nodded. He then raised his hand and pointed to a nearby door.
“Go in.”
The testing ground was right there. Tension crept across Delina’s face. Felick vigorously shook both fists beside her as if cheering her on, but Delina deliberately ignored him and slowly stepped forward. Soon, she reached the door.

‘Alright. Stay calm, calm, calm….’
The door opened under Delina’s hand. In the quiet space, the sound echoed quite loudly. As if aware of it, Delina removed her hand from the door and slowly walked inside, closing it behind her.
“……!”
The moment she stepped through the door, she instantly recognized who the four boys standing in the room were.
“……!”
Above the children’s heads floated the words “Potential Hidden Villain.” Delina’s eyes gradually widened as she saw it.

When yandere male lead believes she loves him — but she never did
“How dare you!”
“How dare you make me love you, only to cast me aside as nothing more than a friend?!?
“I will never accept that.”
“I will never let you return to him.”
“Even if I have to burn myself to ashes.”
“Even if I must shatter my purity, my dignity, my very soul.”
“I will never let you escape me!”

This was the first novel that introduced me to the matriarchal genre. I’ve read it three times already!
At first, the male lead despised the female lead. Later, he misunderstood that she liked him, so he condescendingly and reluctantly reciprocated her feelings.
Then, he suddenly discovered that she was kind to everyone in the same way, and there was already someone she cherished in her heart, and that person was not him.
The male lead couldn’t believe it, he became angry and crazy. He was determined to capture her body and heart by any means necessary.
Synopsis:
Want to see how a green tea bitch male lead falls in love with the female lead?
Want to see how he flirtatiously pursues the female lead?
Want to see how he gets slapped in the face repeatedly?
The male lead is a green tea bitch, a poisonous lotus, jealous, ruthless, unscrupulous, with a venomous heart, and he’s also a delusional maniac.
The female lead is righteous, positive energy-filled, kind, a holy mother.
Let’s see how two people with extreme personalities come together~

I wonder how well Zen understands Del’s speech. Also does the Duke think of her fondly? Does he even know how to laugh?? He calls her Jester so he definitely thinks she’s like a clown. I also wonder how the OG FL is like, the one everyone was obsessed with. And the girl who was Gideon’s lover, I wonder if she had a unique power that gave her a second try

The kids are really cute!! They are only 12, but they still have childish tendencies while still being powerful. Truly good luck to Del, especially with the Duke having an unusual fondness with training the kids. Cause what do you mean your trying to X a child??
