Even after entering the marquis’s residence and taking her seat, not a single person approached Delina or spoke to her. Holding her teacup, Delina began to ponder. Truth be told, regardless of Betty’s teachings or anything else, this was clearly outright hostility, and she was trying to uncover its cause.

‘Did I perhaps insult the marquis’s family the last time I came?’

“Are the cookies to your liking, my lady?”

It was just as Delina reached for a cookie, trying to avoid Silvia’s stare, that Silvia spoke. At the sound of her voice, everyone’s eyes turned to Delina.

“…Yes. They’re quite delicious.”

“Naturally. Our family always uses only the finest ingredients.”

Silvia said proudly, then gestured to a nearby servant.

“How about another kind of cookie? There’s one I’d especially like to recommend to you.”

“A recommendation…?”

“Lona. Bring the cookies here.”

At Silvia’s words, a maid promptly approached and placed a cookie onto Delina’s plate. Those who saw the cookie began to murmur.
