The imperial palace’s reception hall was both splendid and majestic. Yet Delina didn’t even have the presence of mind to look around. The children sitting beside her likewise remained utterly silent, not a single one opening their mouth.
“You too, but I never imagined I’d be discovered as well.”
Noah was the first to break the silence. Delina nodded in agreement.
“Right. You were originally being quietly sponsored too…”
“That’s true. But I’d already given the Duke a heads-up once.”
“I just didn’t realize he’d be this eager to find us.”
At Noah’s quiet muttering, the other children silently concurred. Among them was Ashud, sitting stiffly frozen just like Delina. Delina quietly stared at Ashud, surprised by his unexpected demeanor.
Even if he was meeting his own grandfather, for a prince to be this nervous was puzzling. Just as Delina was about to say something to Ashud, the door opened and Haiyr appeared.
“We greet Your Imperial Majesty.”
At Haiyr’s entrance, the children rose from their seats and bowed their heads. Zen, however, kept his head stubbornly upright until Delina firmly pressed it down with her hand. After observing the children for a moment, Haiyr stepped forward and took a seat.
“Be seated.”
At Haiyr’s words, Delina sat back down and could now see him more closely. Though streaks of white showed in his hair from age, his golden locks and blue eyes were strikingly similar to Ashud’s.
“So, you’re the ones…”
Yet his gaze as he scanned them was entirely different from Ashud’s. It felt as though he intended to scrutinize every last detail. Under Haiyr’s piercing stare, Delina swallowed hard.
“Well, even if you’re not my own blood, perhaps it’s because you’re relatives—each of you looks so alike.”

Does Del remind him of her? I’ve also noticed that Ashud doesn’t deliberately try to be rude to Del, and tries to say things in a vague roundabout way.
