Captured into the Bedroom of the Enemy Emperor (1 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 18
The Empress Dowager, who had been silently listening to the conversation between the princesses and the emperor until now, looked directly at Har Chen and spoke.
“Your Majesty, I bore four children one after another. Their circumstances of birth are already suspicious—now you claim there’s a hidden princess of Tane, captured as a prisoner of war you started yourself? Just what are you lacking that you would consider a state marriage with such a person? I oppose this marriage.”
Exactly. I must be out of my mind.
Yet even at this very moment, because you’re not by my side, I’m going mad with anxiety—worried that Emperor Tane might do something irrational again, that the princess might flee instead of coming here, or that I still haven’t heard anything from Lean.
He couldn’t clearly explain the source of his anxiety. It was an obsession toward the woman he wanted to possess.
But that alone couldn’t define the complexity of his feelings. Though intangible, this emotion now held sway over his reason.
“I also oppose that state marriage, Har Chen. A lady from the enemy general who started the war? That’s absurd. Har Chen, I’m absolutely against it.”
“Your Imperial Majesty, I’m not here seeking your approval for this marriage. I’m informing you. Prepare the state wedding.”
Har Chen stood up from his seat and spoke firmly in a cold voice.
“Then I shall head to the Round Table meeting.”

The meeting room near Emperor Kazan of the Tane Empire’s bedroom.
The Emperor, dressed in a deep violet velvet imperial robe over his nightclothes and wearing the imperial crown, sat propped up on a mobile bed cushion, back and waist supported.
The Captain of the Imperial Guard and Empress Pamila stood on either side of the emperor.
To the emperor’s right sat the Imperial Councilor; to his left sat the representatives of the high nobility from comital houses and above, who held decision-making authority.

An Indifferent Woman is the One Men Desire the Most
One-line summary: The female lead is actually cold-hearted and extremely rational. She has stage-by-stage relationships and won’t two-time, but there will always be someone who secretly likes her.
This novel has the following triggers, so if you’re sensitive to these, please don’t read:
1. The female lead has had many relationships, but she treated each one seriously and broke up properly.
It’s just that the men unilaterally pestered her incessantly. For the female lead, when she doesn’t like someone anymore, she simply doesn’t like them.
(This applies to her relationships with Male Lead 1, 2, 3, and 4 as well, but she’s loyal in each 1-on-1 relationship!)
2. In this novel, Male Lead 2 and the female lead kiss in a car, and Male Lead 1 sees it and beats up Male Lead 2.
The female lead calls the police and sends both Male Lead 1 and 2 to the police station! Male Lead 1 begs the female lead not to break up with him.
3. Male Lead 1 has a gentle appearance but an obsessive personality.
Male Lead 2 has a delicate and soft appearance, slightly green tea-like (two-faced).
Male Lead 3 is a youthful college student and a smart person who has secretly liked the female lead for a long time.
Male Lead 4 is the female lead’s father’s special assistant, a business elite with deep, hidden thoughts.
4. At the beginning of this novel, the female lead has already broken up with Male Lead 1 (Chapter 4) and gotten back together with Male Lead 2 (ex-boyfriend).
5. Enter with caution if you have triggers!!!

Re-reading this chapter, it made realize how little Patricia regarding her life compared to Patrick, all because of her guilt over her twin’s sickness which she assumed caused by her taking away his nutrition during pregnancy (in my opinion, it’s an entirely absurd superstition and baseless theory at best). Glad Patricia has come far by started relying in Harchen until she can trust him and vice versa.
Oh! Harcen made a surf board and have Patricia surfing at the sea? That’s so nice of him! If I were her, I too would be thrilled as I riding the waves.
Could it be the grave with the red hibiscus is the late Empress’ (a.k.a Patricia and Patrick’s mom) grave? Talk about cutting onion.
