Prin bowed hastily the moment she saw Ivenel, but her face had already turned pale. Of all people, it had to be Ivenel.

“I’m sorry.”

‘It’s over now.’

She had just received a harsh scolding from Davian, and now this incident—she might even be expelled from the imperial palace. Bracing herself for an immediate outburst, she was startled instead by an unexpected question.

“Are you all right?”

When Prin cautiously raised her head to look at Ivenel, contrary to her worries, the woman showed no signs of anger or displeasure.

“Oh, um…”

“I’m sorry—I was lost in thought and didn’t see you. Are you hurt anywhere?”

Not only was Ivenel concerned for her, but she was even apologizing. Prin felt flustered—it was the complete opposite of what she’d expected.

Still dazed, Prin stared at Ivenel until she realized the woman seemed to be waiting for a reply, prompting her to speak up hastily.

“I’m fine.”

Relieved, Ivenel naturally bent down to pick up the scattered items. Seeing this, Prin urgently tried to stop her.
