Can an Enemy Become Salvation? (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 87
Ivenel fully understood the choice made by the families who, despite being aware of Hallan’s unusual movements, could do nothing but watch.
“It’s not easy to compromise with reality. After all, the families entrusted with power have a clear duty. Even the smallest mistake could become a target for attack.”
Given their position, they couldn’t afford anything less than extreme caution, as even trivial matters could be twisted against them. Feldin readily admitted this point as well.
“That’s right. We’ve always clashed over this very issue. Protecting the Empire from monsters remains our top priority, after all.”
Suhel, who had been listening quietly to Ivenel, finally broke his silence. He wanted to hear her thoughts properly while he had the chance.
“So, does that mean there’s also a way to keep Duke Hallan in check?”
She hesitated briefly, then spoke up, hoping even a small suggestion might be of help.
“What if we tried taking control of the market that’s formed around monsters?”
The two men immediately showed keen interest—it seemed a fascinating idea.
“While investigating around the capital with Sir Demil, I noticed quite a few shops selling monster-related items. Out of curiosity, I visited one, but even the shopkeeper seemed unaware of what exactly he was selling—what kind of monster it came from or what its true value was. He just kept insisting it was expensive.”
The owner couldn’t give Ivenel a single proper answer to her questions.
She’d felt the same way not just at that shop, but across all monster-related stores in the capital.
“When I asked discreetly, it seemed the shopkeeper hadn’t received any proper explanation from the supplier either.”
As she spoke, she quickly began jotting something down on the back of a document—a clear overview of the entire process, from hunting monsters to how their materials reached consumers.
“At the very start of the distribution chain are the people who hunt monsters and supply the raw materials. Between them and the end consumers are various middlemen, retailers, and large trading companies. But right now, the problem begins right at the very beginning.”

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
