Ivenel watched the monsters vanish leisurely beyond the door and urgently asked the knight.

“What about the other entrance we passed when we came in? Is it closed?”

“No. I left it open.”

“Damn it.”

Since they absolutely had to prevent the monsters from escaping the building, she immediately gave chase. Fortunately, the exit leading outside was closed, so the Nyabis were still inside the monster training ground.

She let out a sigh of relief, knowing the worst-case scenario hadn’t happened yet.

‘It has to end here.’

Calmly, she aimed her gun at the monsters. Taking on two of them alone was still manageable—she could precisely target their cores.

Haargh!

As she prepared to finish them off while aiming at the monsters, whose fur stood on end in alert, an ominous sound reached her ears—the doorknob slowly turning. Hearing it too, both monsters turned their gaze toward the door.

‘No way.’

Apparently hearing the same sound, they suddenly dashed toward the door at full speed simultaneously. Just as Ivenel tried to shout for them not to open it, the previously closed entrance swung fully open.

It was the moment her last hope vanished.

Standing there was another knight who had been guarding the entrance. He had heard faint gunfire and sensed the monsters rampaging inside; since no one had emerged after some time, he had come to investigate.

It was simply the worst possible timing—only because he hadn’t known the situation inside.
