“You didn’t say anything before coming, so he’ll be surprised, right?”

Rona giggled to herself, imagining Jae Min’s startled expression.

She’d been angry yesterday after he left her alone at the movie theater, but his persistent messages had soothed her anger by mid-afternoon.

Still, not wanting to let him off too easily, she’d continued pretending to be upset and ignored his calls—until now, when she was on her way to surprise him with a packed lunch.

“Kongal, Daddy probably still thinks Mommy’s mad. Won’t he be surprised when we show up with something delicious? Let’s give Daddy a good scare!”

Murmuring to her belly, Rona walked into the building.

The building near the courthouse housed numerous law offices.

Heading to the third floor, where No Jae Min’s name was displayed, Rona retraced her steps from a past visit.

“Was Attorney No’s wife always that stunning?”

“I didn’t know either. I couldn’t make it to Jae Min’s wedding—I had something come up.”

Hearing the men passing by whisper as she walked down the corridor, Rona stopped in her tracks.

“Where on earth did that guy find a woman like her? Seriously, how’d he even manage to win her over?”

“I think they met through work—something about his wife’s father being in a hit-and-run. Supposedly, she seemed so delicate that it sparked his protective instincts or something like that.”

“Damn, No Jae Min’s got such good luck. Out of all the cases he’s handled, I’ve never once met a woman like that.”

“Right? I just saw her at the café downstairs and nearly jumped out of my skin.”
