Boiling Desire (Completed Main Story) - Side Story 5
The year turned, and in full spring, Chal Tteok Yi and Kong Tteok Yi were born.
It remained in Ha Joon’s memory as something he never wanted to experience again.
Because all he could do was watch helplessly as Seo Ah suffered. Or rather—would it have been better if he’d at least been allowed to stay and watch? Seo Ah had strictly asked him not to enter the delivery room, so he’d paced anxiously outside.
When Ha Joon finally saw Seo Ah after childbirth, hot tears spilled from his eyes without him even realizing it—and Seo Ah, surprisingly strong, patted his back and told him she was okay.
Her first time ever seeing him cry—tears she’d never even imagined—comforted her exhaustion and moved her deeply.
Thanks to his overflowing love, Seo Ah recovered quickly, but because the twins were born slightly earlier than their due date, they had to spend a month in incubators.
During that time, they decided on names for the twins.
Their firstborn daughter, Kong Tteock Yi, would be named Kang Ji Yu. Their younger son, Chal Tteok Yi, would be named Kang Ji Ho. Both names held similar meanings: may they grow into respected individuals who wisely serve in important roles.
Before they knew it, a month had passed, and Ji Yu and Ji Ho were safely nestled in Ha Joon and Seo Ah’s arms.
Only then did it truly sink in for them.
Seo Ah held Ji Ho, whose body was no bigger than her forearm, while Ha Joon cradled Ji Yu, whose body fit right in his palm—and neither could find words to describe the overwhelming emotion swelling in their chests.
I’m this child’s mother.
I’m this child’s father.
Ha Joon found Seo Ah’s presence even more unbelievable than his own. It almost felt like a baby was raising babies.
Ha Joon, seated right behind Seo Ah, gently pressed Ji Yu’s snow-white, mochi-like cheek with his index finger and lightly brushed her tiny fern-like hand.
