Boiling Desire (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 9
“I can’t… just sleep. Is that still okay?”
Seo Ah fiddled with his watch on the display cabinet for a moment, lost in thought.
When she decided to marry him, she had known this day would come eventually. Sleeping together was only natural between husband and wife. It was sooner than expected, but if she had been truly afraid of it, she wouldn’t have married him in the first place.
There seem to be two methods. Either keep refusing until he no longer wants another woman, or… let yourself be conquered so he loses interest.
Young Joo’s words came back to her.
She hadn’t realized he was frustrated enough to embrace someone he didn’t even like. She had thought they could just quietly share a room, share a bed, and only sleep—but now it felt like she couldn’t keep avoiding it forever.
Perfect wifely support was important, but she also needed to keep an eye on what he did at night.
In a world where people have one-night stands with strangers, and as her friends said, babies don’t come that easily anyway—so what the heck.
Conquest it is. I’ll let him.
“It’s okay.”
Seo Ah lifted her head and looked straight into Ha Joon’s eyes as she spoke.
At that, Ha Joon wrapped one large hand around her slender waist and pulled her body even closer.
Without either of them starting it first, their hearts began pounding so hard it felt like they might burst, their breathing growing unstable.
Are you really okay with this? Do you know what I want? Ha Joon asked with eyes blazing with desire.
Seo Ah squeezed her eyes shut against the intensity of his gaze.
The situation felt just like yesterday, and Ha Joon’s mind grew hazy. What if she slaps me again? But today he felt he wouldn’t be able to hold back—he wouldn’t be able to let her go.
Even a single kiss between husband and wife shouldn’t be this hard.
Yet this time she seemed to have made up her mind; her lips trembled, pursing tightly, then hiding inside, then poking out again, unable to stay still.
“Slapping my cheek won’t work today.”
His low, heavy voice tickled Seo Ah’s ear.
She squeezed her eyes even tighter, and the moment she felt the soft, hot sensation on her lips, she held her breath and clenched both fists.
But Ha Joon couldn’t feel any of her softness at all—she had tensed her lips so much.
After keeping them pressed together for a while, Ha Joon finally pulled away.
From a distance where their noses almost touched, he cupped one of her cheeks with his large hand and gently brushed her hidden lips with his thumb.
“Relax.”
When Seo Ah unconsciously let out the breath she’d been holding through her nose, he felt her warm exhale on his thumb.
“Breathe normally too.”
Thinking she had let it out discreetly, Seo Ah—mortified—cracked her eyes open a little, looked down as far as she could, and moved her small lips.
“I need to wash up first and then… mmph.”
Her words were swallowed by Ha Joon, and she had no choice but to close her eyes again.
Afraid she would hide her lips once more, Ha Joon hurriedly slipped between her soft teeth.
“Mmn.”
Startled by the sudden hot, moist, soft invasion, Seo Ah tried to push his shoulders away, only to panic at his burning, hard bare skin and instead clasp both fists neatly against her own chest.
In that brief moment, Ha Joon wrapped his arms around her nape and waist, pressing their bodies even closer.
By the time she realized pushing was useless, their sticky breaths were already tangled together.
Thump-thump-thump-thump. A heartbeat—whose, she didn’t know—filled the dressing room.
Seo Ah grew flustered thinking her own heart was this loud, but Ha Joon’s heartbeat drowned hers out completely.
Her sweet scent, her breath even sweeter than the scent, the softer-than-expected texture, the delicate body that fit perfectly in his arms—
And above all, the way she squirmed helplessly in his embrace was so lovable it made his heart ache.
“Mmm…”
Seo Ah let out a fragile breath, overwhelmed by his presence filling her small mouth.
Keeping her mouth open made her jaw hurt, standing on tiptoe to match his tall frame made her legs hurt, and now she had no strength left to escape—yet he gripped her nape and waist so tightly.
It was her first kiss ever, and people said you hear bells ringing during a kiss—was it supposed to feel this overwhelming? Her body was exhausted, but her mind kept drifting farther away; the moment he let go she felt she might collapse.
Just then, her light body was lifted into the air and placed on top of the display cabinet. His breath left her, and finally her body felt a little relief—
Yet why this feeling of regret?
She carefully opened the eyes she had kept shut.
But seeing his face still so close startled her; her gaze dropped between his legs, and even more shocked, she quickly turned her head away.
Before she could fully process it, Ha Joon cupped her cheeks again and kissed her once more.
This time he gently teased between her teeth, much softer than before.
Earlier he had taken advantage of the gap while she was speaking, but now it felt like he was asking permission.
Trending
From Seo Ah’s perspective, the earlier one was better. She couldn’t tell whether he was tickling her teeth or her heart.
Ha Joon grew impatient with her teeth that wouldn’t easily part. He had put her on the cabinet and given her a break out of consideration because she seemed to be struggling—now he regretted it.
Pulling away felt like admitting defeat. It couldn’t be called a light kiss anymore after how long he had teased her teeth.
Was his kiss that bad? Did she not want to do it again? He had lost control and rushed her earlier because his pent-up desire exploded, so this time he tried to be gentle—
The moment he wondered whether he should speak again to find an opening,
her teeth finally parted a little.
The way she made him desperate and then opened them—it wasn’t ordinary.
Pretending to be innocent when she might have a lot of experience? Feeling foolish for falling for it completely, his pride hurt, and he immediately pulled his lips away.
Then he walked straight into the bathroom.
Seo Ah touched her lips, feeling regretful.
It was like a fierce storm had raged and then suddenly calmed. She was disappointed it ended without her properly feeling it.
She had imagined kissing him back when she secretly loved him deeply.
Even the imagination had overwhelmed her—how would it have felt if they had kissed with the same excitement she felt back then? Even now her heart felt like it would burst and her mind was dizzy.
Anyway, how am I supposed to get down from here again?
Last time she almost fell getting down and Ha Joon had caught her—if he put her up here, he should take responsibility and help her down! So mean!
She took a deep breath and jumped down.
She staggered a bit and had to put both hands on the floor, but it was a fairly successful landing.
And Ha Joon had been watching the whole thing.
He wanted to run out and help her down immediately, but his body and mind weren’t cooperating. When she jumped, his own heart seemed to drop, and when she bravely dusted off her hands and stood up, she even looked admirable.
As soon as she disappeared from view, he firmly closed the bathroom door and leaned his back against the wall.
‘Ha… what am I doing right now…’
Ha Joon had not planned to consummate their marriage tonight.
He wanted to go slowly so she wouldn’t be scared—one step a day, starting with kisses.
He had deliberately placed her on the cabinet to at least relieve some of his boiling desire with a kiss, but pride got in the way.
Thinking about it now, maybe she hadn’t been teasing him on purpose—maybe she was just felt shy, or it really was too much for her.
It felt strange to be overthinking something like this. He had so little time that even worrying about work wasn’t enough—when he wanted to kiss he should just kiss, when he wanted to hold her he should just hold her—so why was everything so complicated and difficult.
He thought simply bringing her inside his fence would be enough. He was confident she could never escape, yet why was he so anxious,
It felt like the greatest puzzle of Ha Joon’s life.
When Ha Joon came out of the shower, Seo Ah was gone.
His startled eyes darted around. Did he push too far? Did he hurt her pride? Was she angry enough to leave the house?
He picked up his phone to call her, then thought he might be overreacting if she was just somewhere in the house, so he opened the bedroom door and stepped out.
He looked around the house as naturally as possible so he wouldn’t seem flustered if they ran into each other.
She definitely wasn’t on the second floor; he checked the terrace in case she was in the garden—still wasn’t there. He headed downstairs.
As he reached the bottom stair and scanned the area,
Click! The sound of a door opening.
It was the bathroom door. She had been showering.
What should he do? Go back upstairs? Say he was taking a walk in the garden? While he fidgeted, his eyes met Seo Ah’s.
Trying to act natural, he walked toward the kitchen and opened the wine cellar.
He grabbed a random bottle, poured a glass, and casually glanced where she had been standing—thankfully she had already gone upstairs.
“Haa…”
He didn’t think he could sleep beside her while completely sober, so he gulped down the wine.
Meanwhile, Seo Ah, now upstairs, flinched when she saw Ha Joon’s phone on the nightstand.
He wouldn’t come up already, right? With trembling hands she turned on the screen.
But it was locked with a fingerprint. There were no new messages or calls either—nothing she could check right away.
At that moment, footsteps outside the door grew closer.
Seo Ah quickly put the phone back and grew restless. The thought of sharing a bed with him made her heart feel like it would explode.
Click—the door opened, and she jumped.
But Ha Joon did nothing; he simply lay down on the bed.
Why? He said he couldn’t just sleep. Seo Ah looked at him with puzzled eyes, and his closed lips moved.
“Why aren’t you turning off the light.”

Oh, right. We have to turn off the light. Swallowing hard, Seo Ah switched off the light and lay down.
She had expected him to pounce the moment she lay down, but he showed no reaction.
Are we really just going to sleep like this? Was he teasing me earlier? She felt both relieved and seized by another emotion she couldn’t name.
Anyway, this was the first time sleeping in the same room, same bed, under the same blanket as him.
It was so quiet that even swallowing or shifting felt embarrassing.
Eventually the position became uncomfortable. She usually slept on her left side, so lying on her back was naturally awkward—and her left side faced him.
If her body was comfortable she would fall asleep faster, and falling asleep faster would free her from this suffocating tension. After hesitating, Seo Ah turned onto her right side.
It felt better than facing him directly. Turning her back to him completely felt more comfortable.
Some time later, a loud commotion suddenly woke Seo Ah.
Ha Joon wasn’t beside her; checking the time on her phone, it was 3 a.m.
It wasn’t time for his workout, and no one should be coming home at this hour—why was it so noisy? Was she dreaming?
In a daze she got up, opened the bedroom door just a crack, and peeked out.
The study door was wide open and the lights were brightly on.
Soon, Seok Hoon and a man wearing a doctor’s coat came out of the study.
The scene reminded her of when her grandmother—who had raised her—passed away when she was little, and without realizing it tears welled up in her eyes.
It had been early morning then too; while everyone was frantically around Grandma’s room, she had been sleeping alone and missed being with her grandmother at the end.
No way—it can’t be. It’s too quiet for that right now. Someone who was perfectly healthy—why would they suddenly…
“Huh? Madam.”
