Whitney did not flinch under Violet’s gaze. She had done nothing wrong. As she had said, it was Karl who had come looking for her, so it wouldn’t have been right for her to answer first in this situation.

“My elder brother came to spar with me and happened to cross paths with the princess, who was out for a stroll. As you know, His Highness is quite furious about the scandal, so he raised his voice while asking the princess about Lady Melissa’s intentions.”
