A moment later, Grayan spoke.

Those words were practically permission. April, looking delighted, immediately threw her arms around Grayan again. And, as always, Grayan stiffened up instantly.

Nyx turned toward me and asked once more. April was also gazing at me with bright, sparkling eyes.

It felt as though she was desperately begging, ‘Please say yes! Please say yes!’… Avoiding April’s intense gaze with slight discomfort, I gently opened my mouth.

“A parent can never win against their child. What’s the point of arguing further?”

And so, it was decided that April would form a contract with Archspirit Nyx.

Nyx’s voice sounded strangely lonely as they spoke. With a hand like the night sky, Nyx gently caressed April’s cheek and continued.
