“Huh?”

Her hand froze in confusion, and then came a click—the sound of the door opening.

Da Jung grabbed the dress with both hands and hastily slipped her feet in. As she pulled it up, the soft lining snugly hugged her waist and hips.

Da Jung hurried out, clutching the flowing hem of the dress.

Mi Yeon was standing before a large wall mirror. Her striking features appeared even more prominent against the simplicity of her attire.

She softened her eyes and met Da Jung’s gaze.

“Da Jung, didn’t you find anything strange while reading Tae Sang’s article today?”

“…I did.”

Da Jung slowly nodded.

Her own article had vanished entirely, and in its place, the press had turned unusually harsh on Tae Sang—all too perfectly orchestrated to be mere coincidence.

“Tae Sang did something incredibly reckless to protect you.”

“Reckless… what do you mean?”

She could feel her heartbeat gradually quicken. Da Jung suppressed her rising anxiety and looked back at Mi Yeon.

“He told them they could write anything they wanted about him, as long as they left you alone. A request—or maybe a threat?”

Though Mi Yeon chuckled softly, Da Jung couldn’t bring herself to smile in return. Mi Yeon lightly placed a hand on Da Jung’s stiff shoulders.
