The top-floor suite of Hyosung Hotel. Heavy curtains meticulously blocked out the city lights seeping through.

Tae Sang sat motionless on the living room sofa, dressed in a suit as rigid as armor. His face, rougher than usual, betrayed no emotion.

Secretary Kim watched him with a pang of concern. Even for Tae Sang, this was pushing too far—no rest, no sleep, just enduring day after day was simply unsustainable.

“Deputy Managing Director, wouldn’t it be better to skip today’s event? The Chairwoman would surely understand.”

“I’m fine.”

Tae Sang slowly shifted his jaw. A raspy voice slipped between his crimson lips.

“More importantly, what’s the status on the gallery purchase records?”

“We’re still investigating, but it’s nearly certain—the timing and amounts of the fund disbursements almost perfectly match.”

Tae Sang slowly exhaled.

Myung Ok’s breach of trust showed no end, no matter how deep he dug.

Over the years, she had purchased countless artworks under the Hyosung Foundation’s name, siphoning the foundation’s funds throughout the process—and had even attempted tax evasion.

Thus, last time, Tae Sang donated all the artworks she had amassed to a museum.

But it didn’t end there.

It had newly surfaced that Myung Ok had embezzled company funds to purchase art.

It seemed even more time would be needed to fully bring her down—and that meant Da Jung would remain in danger for even longer.
