“It feels like no matter which side I pick, it’s going to be a minus point.”

Ji Hoon, who had clearly looked extremely nervous just moments ago, showed no sign of being flustered. He calmly caught Jun’s seemingly doomed question.

“If I say I’m more handsome, I’ll get minus points from the director, and if I say the director is more handsome, you’ll probably say it’d be better for the actually more handsome Director Kim to learn acting instead, so I’d get an automatic point deduction either way.”

“No. Neither answer would give you minus points. At least not to me as the director.”

It sounded like Director Kim Jun was saying it wouldn’t happen as a director, but as the man Kim Jun, it might be different.

“Ah… Then this is a question where points can actually be gained. May I ask if the director has a correct answer in mind?”

A faint smile floated across his slightly embarrassed face.

I was curious too. What intention did Jun have in throwing out this question right now? Was there an answer he was hoping for, or… was it just something he poked at impulsively because of some lingering feeling?

“Well… I do have something in mind. Of course, separately from that, you can just honestly tell me whatever answer you’re thinking of right now. Because truthfully, it doesn’t feel like I’m the only one grading who’s more handsome.”

When Jun swept his gaze widely around the room, low laughter from the judges quickly filled the conference room.

“That makes it even more burdensome, doesn’t it.”

The laughter that had quieted down began flowing rhythmically from the judges’ seats again. Ji Hoon’s eye smile that came before his answer looked pure. Right behind that pure eye smile came a quick reply.

“Personally I’m very tempted by the points… but unfortunately, this seems like a question that’s hard for me to answer.”

Jun didn’t urgently ask why or cut him off. He just listened quietly. After a short pause, Ji Hoon’s low voice followed.

“Because I think the comparison target is wrong. I came here with the desperate wish to play twenty-year-old Jun in front of the camera, so I don’t feel like comparing the appearance of twenty-nine-year-old Jun standing in front of me with the Jun from back then. It’s not about who was more or less handsome—I still want to see the director right now as the future of twenty-year-old Jun. As someone who still resembles him now and will continue to resemble him in the future.”
