Jun was staring at me intently. Soon, just like his dissatisfied lips pressed into a straight line, his eyes began to narrow little by little. Then I saw him lower his head deeply and start tapping on the phone keypad he was holding.

The moment Jun took his eyes off his phone screen, my phone buzzed and vibrated.

[Just what time did you go to sleep last night?]

…What now. It was such a silly message that a silly laugh escaped me. I had only rested my head on the desk for a moment because all the strength had left my body. Jun, who had no way of knowing the truth, seemed to think I had collapsed again from lack of sleep.

I placed both thumbs on the screen to reply, thinking about what to say, when another message immediately appeared below it.

[I walked you all the way home and even said good night.]

It was a cute nagging, asking if I was dozing off despite all his effort. I smiled. Just a little while ago at the café, Jung Eun had asked why my eyes looked so clear and bright today. Even though I hadn’t fallen asleep just now, she still said that.

With the corners of my mouth lifted, I threw my gaze far toward the glass window where Jun was standing. But right at that moment, Jun was talking with someone who looked like a staff member while holding documents. I watched for a moment, wondering if it would end soon, but then he started walking down the hallway and moved away completely.

Looks like the conversation is going to take a while.

To Jun, who had gone somewhere my eyes couldn’t reach, I sent a message that could fly freely to him in my place.

[I just saw you getting dragged away. Work hard~]

It was just a message with a few words floating on the screen, yet thanks to it my slumped shoulders straightened and a smile began to spread across my lips.

While briefly exchanging messages with Jun, I picked up two work-related emails that had dropped into my inbox and replied simply.

However, my gaze suddenly moved to the glass wall where Jun had been standing, then came back emptily. A feeling of disappointment for not seeing something I wanted to see quickly filled my chest. As if trying to deny that feeling, I shook my head again. Pretending to be calm, I rested my chin on my hand and stared at the monitor.

The small window floating in the bottom left started bothering me again. My hesitant hand kept meaninglessly scrolling the mouse wheel upward.
