“Lee Ha Ru, why are you so surprised? It’s all my fault—your hair’s completely messed up now. All done. Let’s go in.”

Jun stepped aside to let me enter first and waited. My gaze wavered dizzily as I looked at him. To hide that look, I lowered my head and quickly soothed myself, trying to calm my racing heart.

Jun had only fixed my hair because he noticed it was tangled from the hat I’d worn on his account. Even now, his expression seemed to say it was nothing important.

Right, that’s all it was. There’s no other reason….

I went into the room first. As I sat on the sofa and waited for your footsteps to approach, it suddenly struck me.

Spaces absorb memories. And memories always carry emotions with them. So it was only natural that the moment I entered this space, I recalled the feelings from our last conversation here.

The reason your sofa—the one I used to love—is still sitting right where it always was is because neither of us could bring ourselves to discard the memories tied to that small piece of furniture. Your face, eyes reddened as you spoke to me, and the emotions I felt then came rushing back vividly.

Even your voice, scolding me as if to emphasize the difference in how you and I regard those memories.

“Show me the script.”

My gaze, which had been drifting restlessly in the air lost in thought, turned back to Jun. His eyes, seemingly fixed solely on me the entire time, were calm.

A slight unease rose in me—had my newly stirred turmoil already fully reflected in those quietly rippling eyes of his?

“Oh, the script. Right.”

We’d met today specifically to discuss the script I was currently writing. So Jun’s request was perfectly reasonable, and it was only natural that I should now take it out.

But for me, it wasn’t natural at all. Because this script wasn’t fiction—it was about our real first love nine years ago.

It contained everything I remembered from that spring day we first met, and all the tender words deeply etched into my heart.
