Ji Hoon, reading my hesitation from the drawn-out end of my sentence I hadn’t even realized I’d prolonged, clearly stated his intention.

“The script I wrote?”

“Heh, Writer Lee—you’re opening your eyes so wide. Blink, blink. So this is the face you make when you’re surprised.”

“…Please don’t tease me, Ji Hoon.”

“Alright, I won’t. After all, I’m the one who needs your help right now. I should be doing everything I can to impress you, right?”

I thought again how nice his smile looked, as clear and bright as ever today. I furrowed my brows, feigning deep contemplation for no reason, then quickly relaxed them and nodded in agreement. His already cheerful expression grew even brighter.

“To be honest, since it’s a script I wrote, I’d happily help you anytime you asked, Ji Hoon. I’ll definitely read through it with you first, but if you ever feel like my help isn’t useful, feel free to just toss it aside.”

“Hehe, that’ll absolutely never happen, but I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you, Writer Lee.”

Ji Hoon gestured toward the other side of the doorway where he was standing and invited me in. It was a small room being used as an actors’ waiting area.

Just as I moved to step inside, my gaze suddenly drifted to where Jun had been standing moments ago. At that exact moment—perhaps by coincidence, or maybe not—I locked eyes head-on with Jun, who was speaking with Min Seo.

Was it just my imagination? It seemed like Jun’s eyes, fixed on me, suddenly tensed. He glanced once at Ji Hoon, then back at me, and without offering even the faintest smile, he immediately looked away.

Surely… he wasn’t angry?
