Under the blazing sunlight, the world looked as if painted—absolutely beautiful. Azure skies, the vast ocean, crashing waves, white sands—everything about this perfect January in Cancun felt like heaven.

Jae In, waking up late and lying face-down, drowsily watched the white curtains fluttering softly in the breeze.

Wrapped in a lazy, languid warmth, the corners of her lips curled up instinctively. After indulging in cat-like idleness like it was early spring, she finally summoned strength into her arms.

“Ah…”

She tried to get up, lured by the dazzling sunlight spilling onto the terrace—but immediately flopped back down onto the plush bed, face-first.

Her limbs still refused to obey after the intense intimacy that had lasted until morning. A ticklish laugh bubbled out.

“Good.”

Murmuring with laughter in her voice, Jae In rubbed her face against the pillow.

Lying face-down, swaddled in the crisp, rustling sheets, she was practically melting away. The biting Chicago cold that had made her shiver just days ago was already a distant memory.

All thanks to Tae Seo. Just a week ago, right after wrapping up his work in Korea, Tae Seo had flown straight to Chicago. Ever since their reunion on Christmas Eve, the two had stayed glued together—eating, sleeping, showering, playing—doing everything together.

As that dreamlike week drew to a close, during their private New Year’s celebration, Tae Seo kissed Jae In and whispered,

“Grant me my New Year’s wish.”

“What is it?”

“Say you’ll grant me anything first.”

“I need to hear it first. I don’t stamp approvals blindly.”
