Because she’d taken Executive Director Kim’s car all the way to the airport, Yuri had to use public transportation to get around now.

Having never once used public transit in her life, she didn’t even know ride-hailing apps existed. So she figured she’d have to walk to a major road with lots of traffic and hail a taxi.

As she carefully walked along the road where snow hadn’t fully melted, irritated grumbles kept slipping past her twisted lips.

“Ugh!”

In the end, even her other shoe got dirty. Staring down at her ruined shoes, Yuri’s mind filled with the face that had kept her awake for days. Her grip tightened instinctively on her handbag.

At the airport, seeing Yoon Jae In and Kang Tae Seo walk out holding hands and smiling had made her see red.

But she’d managed to trick Executive Director Kim, who was clearly trying to send her off to Canada, and hadn’t boarded the plane. Since returning home would only mean being dragged back to Canada again, Yuri was now hopping from one hotel to another.

“Since she takes after my mother, shouldn’t she spend her whole life banned from setting foot in Korea, just like my mom?”

Yuri bit down hard on her lips and raised her hand. But every taxi completely ignored her.
