“Call Executive Director Kim. Ask where the chairman is right now.”

“Yes.”

Just in case, she dropped by the foundation office to check things over and returned home, only to find her husband Dae Hoon wasn’t there. As Seung Hee sat down on the sofa and gave orders to Secretary Choi, Madam Gwacheon promptly handed her headache medicine and a glass of water.

“Where’s Yuri?”

“She doesn’t seem to be up yet.”

After swallowing the pill, Seung Hee waved her hand at Madam Gwacheon to go attend to her duties, then pressed her fingers against her throbbing temples. She was irritated—because of that insufferable Yoon Jae In, she’d been running around to no avail since morning.

Worse yet, she never expected to run into Kang Tae Seo of Kang Seon Group there. Judging by how he’d treated her, the young man clearly grew up sheltered and fearless. Though handsome enough, his lack of respect for elders didn’t sit well with her.

“Tch.”

She would’ve preferred a gentler son-in-law, but seeing how her daughter was set on him, changing her mind was out of the question. She’d always given her only daughter whatever she wanted, no matter what. A man was no different.

She’d planned to inform her husband of the seriousness of the situation as soon as he arrived. She didn’t know how Kang Tae Seo had heard rumors and dared threaten her and Secretary Choi like that—but their relationship had only ever existed within the foundation office. There couldn’t possibly be any evidence.

Earlier, she’d retreated under pressure, but soon she intended to bring that arrogant Yoon Jae In in, teach her her place, and send her back to the U.S.—banishing her from ever setting foot in Korea again.

She also planned to have her husband summon Kang Tae Seo. She might overlook him seeing another woman briefly before marriage, but deceiving Yuri was something she wouldn’t let slide.

Kang Tae Seo had spoken as if he knew who his true fiancée really was—but both parties who’d made that marriage promise were long deceased. Besides, rumors had already spread all over the industry.

With things blowing up this big, how could she possibly pretend she didn’t know?
