A Twisted Relationship (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 7
Si Hoon’s loosened eyes pitifully gazed at Min Hyuk.
“Besides, only you, me, and my sister-in-law even know about it. There’s no one to tell her the truth, so she keeps remembering it was me. God, the world really sucks, right? Ugh… I love you, Mi Kyung.”
“Hah.”
A sigh escaped Min Hyuk’s lips.
Today, more than any other day, Kang Si Hoon’s drunken rambling had crossed the line.
In the end, Si Hoon buried his face on the dining table, calling out his wife’s name, and fell asleep, overwhelmed by the alcohol.
Min Hyik shot a sidelong glare at Si Hoon, who had just fallen asleep after summoning him—the newlywed—and only succeeding in getting on his nerves.
“That’s exactly why I’m so frustrated. Our memories are being distorted. In Da Hyun’s memory, it’s not me but my brother who remains.”
Min Hyuk clenched his teeth, glaring down irritably at the sleeping Si Hoon.
A secret from two years ago—known only to him, her, and Kang Si Hoon.
Han Da Hyun.
She had erased the memories she shared with him—not just neatly, but utterly and completely.
A memory disorder caused by him.
Because of him, it was as good as if she’d suffered that car accident herself.
Min Hyuk left the penthouse without so much as a backward glance, abandoning the sleeping Si Hoon where he lay.
The next day.
“Huh!”
Da Hyun’s eyes snapped open. She gasped for breath and wiped the cold sweat off her forehead with the back of her hand.
Her whole body was drenched.
She couldn’t recall what she’d dreamed, but it must have been an extremely bad omen.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have bolted upright as if being chased.
Da Hyun got out of bed and headed toward the bathroom.
She urgently wanted to wash away this unpleasant, sticky feeling.
***
When she came downstairs to the first floor, he was already there, relaxedly working on his laptop in the dining room as if he’d been home for a while.
‘When did he get back?’
She hadn’t slept until dawn and hadn’t heard him come in.
Had she simply not noticed because he hadn’t tried to open her door? Or had he only just returned moments ago, right before sunrise?
“You’re up? Looks like you stayed up late yesterday. It’s practically afternoon already.”
Noticing her presence, Min Hyuk asked as though he’d been waiting for her to wake up.
She was relieved he was here after she’d washed up.
Could it be that she didn’t want him to see her in an unflattering state?
Da Hyun frowned, unsure why she even felt the need to be reassured.
She stared at Min Hyuk, clad in a plain black T-shirt and sweatpants.
Even in comfortable everyday clothes, he was handsome. No matter how many times she looked, he was genuinely good-looking.
When Min Hyuk turned his head toward her sharp gaze, Da Hyun quickly averted her eyes.
Unlike her, who felt awkward in this peaceful atmosphere, he seemed entirely unfazed.
“Why do you look so grumpy the moment you wake up? It’s supposed to be a refreshing morning—or rather, afternoon.”
He flashed a bright smile, as if sunlight were pouring down upon them. Now that she had woken up, Min Hyuk closed his laptop—his reason for using it gone.
“Are you scolding me for waking up late?”
Da Hyun’s words came out sharper than she’d intended.
It had nothing to do with her when he came home, yet the thought that he might have returned this morning left her irritated.
“I’m not scolding you. It’s just… unlike some people, I’m a morning person, and waiting got pretty boring. Besides, it’s our honeymoon period—we can’t just spend all our time working.”
He was the one who’d stayed out all night, not her.
It wasn’t as if he’d spent the whole day nursing Chairman Kang in his hospital room. She could’ve called Chairman Kang directly to check, but it wasn’t worth the trouble—and she didn’t even want to ask.
Whatever Kang Min Hyuk did, whoever he met—it was none of her concern. She only needed to properly fulfill her assigned role.
“Are we really like other couples, living an ordinary honeymoon?”
As Da Hyun walked toward the kitchen for a drink, she glanced at the stew pot left by the housekeeper and reached for a cup.
Min Hyuk followed her into the kitchen and gave a light shrug.
“We could just make it ordinary, couldn’t we?”
Trending
How hard could that be?
Da Hyun, who hadn’t heard his quiet muttering, suddenly remembered it was a weekday, not the weekend, and looked at Min Hyuk—who was lounging at home without any sign of heading to work.
“Min Hyuk, it’s Monday. Aren’t you going to work?”
While pouring water, she couldn’t help but wonder how he could be so calm and relaxed on a weekday, as if he had all the time in the world.
“Yeah. Not this week.”
“But it’s Monday.”
“Yeah. Not going.”
Min Hyuk firmly reiterated that he wouldn’t be going to work this week.
His gentle smile and kind tone made Da Hyun feel oddly familiar.
With that face, smiling was outright cheating.
“Da Hyun, I’m not going anywhere.”
It almost sounded as if he were promising to stay with her.
Da Hyun deliberately pushed away the thought and spoke indifferently.
“Do as you like. It doesn’t concern me anyway.”
They were only nominal spouses—strangers, even less than that. Whatever he did was completely separate from her.
“You saying that makes me sad.”
Min Hyuk briefly offered a bitter smile before quickly hiding it.
Changing the subject, he mentioned something that had happened that morning.
“Oh, come to think of it, I got a call from your sister this morning.”
He knew full well she’d cringe in disgust upon hearing it.
“What? From Ji Yeon?”
Da Hyun, who had been drinking water, choked and burst into coughing.
Her eyes widened in shock as she set down her cup. Only after her coughing subsided did she raise a hand to soothe her throat.
For a brief moment, she looked confused—then scowled, unable to understand why Ji Yeon would call him.
“Yeah. She said you weren’t answering her calls.”
“Me?”
She pulled out her phone from her pocket to check—but found no missed calls in her call log.
Clearly, Ji Yeon had lied just to call Min Hyuk on purpose.
“No call came through.”
Da Hyun clicked her tongue at such an obvious ploy.
“What did Ji Yeon say?”
“She said she wanted to visit our newlywed home, so I told her to go ahead.”
“What?!”
“While I was at it, I invited her over for dinner tonight to keep the promise I made at the department store yesterday. After all, I’m the kind of man who always keeps his word.”
Though he didn’t even consider Ji Yeon his sister-in-law, he called her “sister-in-law” and casually mentioned their “newlywed home”—the picture of a groom.
“Why—why did you invite Han Ji Yeon over without asking me? I’d appreciate it if you acknowledged this isn’t just your house.”
“I know that very well. That’s exactly why I invited her.”
Da Hyun’s brows furrowed. If he knew that well, why had he invited someone over without her consent?
“If I were living alone, I wouldn’t let any woman inside.”
“Why are you bringing that up now?”
Meeting her utterly disbelieving stare, Min Hyuk raised both hands in surrender.
“Do you think I look promiscuous to my own wife?”
Teasingly playful, his remark made Da Hyun bite the soft flesh inside her cheek.
Min Hyuk lowered his hands, wearing a faint smile.
“You’ve only ever been the one getting hurt by Han Ji Yeon.”
“….”
“I’m the kind of good husband who always sides with his wife over his sister-in-law.”
Da Hyun couldn’t hide her baffled expression.
With his gentle tone, he seemed to be saying, “Even if the whole world stands against you, I’m on your side.”
“I intend to systematically crush everyone who’s ever made my wife suffer.”

The words clashed sharply with his gentle voice.
Yet Da Hyun didn’t find his words unpleasant at all.
It felt like ages—no, maybe the first time ever—that someone had said they’d protect her. She wasn’t sure.
Her heart fluttered wildly, pounding hard in her chest.
“D-Don’t need your help, Kang Min Hyuk.”
Da Hyun deliberately drew a colder, sharper line between them.
“If you don’t need help, then why have you been hiding yourself and acting all this time?”
Da Hyun’s lips trembled—but she remained silent.
“How do you even know that, Kang Min Hyuk?”
It felt as if he saw right through her. He’d been like this even when they first met—acting as though he knew everything about her.
“Your eyes.”
“My eyes?”
Da Hyun tilted her head, confused again by his cryptic answer.
“Your eyes weren’t smiling at all at first. You looked annoyed by the situation, yet your tone was soft and gentle.”
Min Hyuk explained in detail, as if it were obvious, revealing how he’d come to understand her.
“Was I really like that?”
“Yeah. You were.”
Da Hyun tried to recall their first meeting at the matchmaking, but couldn’t remember what expression she’d worn when looking at him.
“Your parents said they couldn’t make it, so Ji Yeon will come alone. She’ll arrive at six for dinner. Let’s show her a truly devoted couple—one that makes others envious.”
Devoted couple? What even was that?
Da Hyun kept opening and closing her mouth before finally pressing her lips together.
Better not say anything unnecessary. Letting him sway her wouldn’t lead to anything good.
Although they’d only been married for three days, she already felt like she was being swayed—but Da Hyun chose to ignore it.
“Since you’ve already made the arrangements, it’d be weird to suddenly tell her not to come. I’ll go along with your plan this time. But please don’t make decisions alone next time.”
“Got it.”
After saying she’d be ready on time, Da Hyun picked up the cup she’d set down earlier.
Suddenly, she wondered what kind of life Kang Min Hyuk had lived.
But her curiosity had to end there.
It was just a contractual relationship—there was no point getting curious.
“I’ll go lie back down upstairs.”
“Alright. Go ahead.”
“Okay.”
Da Hyun walked past Min Hyuk and left the kitchen.
Min Hyuk didn’t stop her. Though he felt a pang of regret at not continuing their conversation, it was fine.
He stared fixedly at her retreating back, not even blinking.
Every moment he spent watching her felt precious—even closing his eyes felt like a waste.
Thirty minutes past the agreed time, Ji Yeon finally arrived and casually rattled off excuses for being late.
Both Min Hyuk and Da Hyun saw right through her lies, but simply let it slide with light indifference.
They’d known from the moment Ji Yeon mentioned wanting to visit that she had ulterior motives.
“Brother-in-law, thank you so much for inviting me over like this.”
Without even glancing at Da Hyun, Ji Yeon focused solely on Min Hyuk as she cut into a tender slice of sirloin with her knife.
“Brother-in-law, have you gotten used to life in Korea?”
Da Hyun remained unfazed—the situation was no different from yesterday.
“For me, coming back to Korea was tough to adjust to. Jet lag was really hard. How about you, brother-in-law?”
Whether Ji Yeon was trying to gain something from him or aiming for him personally was unclear—but seeing her try so desperately was oddly satisfying.
“Da Hyun, have some of this.”
“Oh, thank you.”
Min Hyuk, utterly indifferent to Ji Yeon’s chatter, calmly sliced the sirloin and placed it on Da Hyun’s plate.
Ji Yeon, who had been chattering animatedly, instantly fell silent.
“Don’t thank me. Just accept it as something natural from now on.”

“What? Oh—okay. I will.”
Min Hyuk moved the plate that had originally been in front of Da Hyun to his own spot.
Da Hyun looked down at the neatly sliced steak on her plate.
Was this his way of taking revenge—flaunting sickeningly sweet newlywed affection right in front of Ji Yeon?
“I wanted to cut it for you myself. I can’t feed you in front of my sister-in-law, after all.”
“Thank you.”
As he resumed cutting the steak, the corners of his lips curled upward.
A newlywed aura radiated unmistakably from Min Hyuk.
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
