When Se Ah opened her eyes in the morning, Kang Woo was no longer beside her. The winter blanket had been pulled up to her waist—apparently, he’d covered her immediately upon waking, using the caregiver’s bedsheet.

The patient himself had been chased away, while he took over the entire bed. Even though, admittedly, he’d pulled her in quite enticingly.

Just a few hours earlier, they’d fallen asleep tightly embracing in that narrow space. The closeness of their bodies, the warmth of his skin against her neck—all came vividly rushing back.

She quickly gathered herself, worried a nurse might catch her in an embarrassing position, and hurriedly got out of bed.

She tugged down the loose hem of her T-shirt, which had slid below her shoulders, and roughly combed her long hair with her fingers into a passable state of tidiness. Then she straightened the bedding—making sure not to forget removing one pillow and swiftly moving it to the caregiver’s bed.

Se Ah tapped on the inner bathroom door.

“Kang Woo-ssi, are you showering?”

“…….”

He apparently couldn’t hear her over the sound of the water. She opened the wardrobe and took out a bath towel, lingerie, and a winter dress—she needed to dress more carefully today, since she had a meeting scheduled with the HR team manager.

Would this show through? She was slightly concerned because the lingerie’s color was darker than the dress.

With the dress draped over her left arm, she held the undergarments up against her clothes to check—when *click*. The bathroom door opened.

Their gazes collided, carrying starkly differing temperatures. Watching the mischievous lift of his long, upturned eyes, Se Ah quickly lowered her hand.

“It looks nice.”

“What does?”

“The effort you’re putting in, right from the morning.”
