“I don’t feel anything at all.”

For a moment, Se Jin’s eyelids twitched. Taken aback by Yura Jin’s blunt, informal speech—so unlike her usual respectful artist’s demeanor—he appeared flustered.

It was almost laughable that he’d be rattled by something so minor. Yura Jin wished he’d at least realize she was holding back far harsher words.

“No. You still have feelings for me.”

“On what basis do you so confidently assume that?”

Se Jin strode forward abruptly and roughly grabbed Yura Jin’s arm.

“Ah!”

Startled by the sudden force, Yura Jin helplessly stumbled between the piano and Se Jin, trapped. Even she was visibly shaken by the unexpected turn of events.

Her only means of pushing him away boldly was with words. Physically, she was powerless—her small frame stood no chance against his strength.

As Yura Jin struggled to clear her head amidst the confusion, Se Jin’s face drew closer.

“Your eyes.”

His sticky voice brushed unpleasantly against her ear. When his breath nearly touched her skin, Yura Jin turned her head slightly and growled lowly,

“Move aside.”

“Your eyes say you love me. Clearly.”

His outrageous, lewd tongue grazed Yura Jin’s neck as he insisted on something utterly absurd. Instantly, goosebumps crawled across her entire body, as if insects were scurrying over her skin.

Sensing Se Jin’s grip loosening—perhaps thinking she’d now be frightened or reluctantly yield—Yura Jin seized the fleeting opening without hesitation.

Crash! A loud clatter echoed through the practice room. Yura Jin shoved him with all her strength, sending Se Jin sprawling onto the floor.

Barely concealing her boiling fury, Yura Jin scolded him sharply,

“Stop right here. If you go any further, it’s sexual harassment.”

Se Jin scrambled up hastily, his face flushed with embarrassment, and offered an apology.

“I’m sorry if I startled you. That wasn’t my intention.”

As Se Jin moved to close the distance again, Yura Jin stepped back warily. After taking a deep breath to steady herself, she warned him in a voice cold as ice,

“Don’t come any closer.”

“Yura…”

Yura Jin’s firm rejection halted Se Jin mid-step. Unable to mask his bewilderment, he stood helplessly, his hands trembling noticeably.

Yura Jin was deeply irritated by this sudden turn of events. Already displeased with their forced connection as concert planner and performer, she couldn’t understand why he kept acting as though their ended relationship had never truly concluded.

Was it lingering attachment? Or newfound confidence from his changed status? What on earth was driving Se Jin to act so recklessly and impulsively?

“The moment you vanished without a word, our relationship ended.”

“No, no—it wasn’t like that. I had no choice back then.”

“Everyone has their reasons. But it’s far too late to fix it now.”

“Please, don’t do this. Just give me another chance.”

“What chance? Stop forcing this.”

In Yura Jin’s view, their timing had expired five years ago. Any heartfelt apology or detailed explanation should have come long before now. It was already irreversible.

She took a deep breath, feeling her racing heartbeat gradually return to normal.

She couldn’t afford to remain in this awkward, uncomfortable state. From now on, Se Jin needed to focus solely on rehearsals for the concert—and in turn, Yura Jin would fully support his efforts to ensure a successful performance.

To do that, she had to first ease this shock and redefine their relationship.

Not by restarting anything absurd, but by making Se Jin accept that their relationship was truly over. Guiding him back to reality was also her responsibility.

“I really want this concert to go well. You feel the same, right? So please cooperate.”

“I know. I really do. That’s why—”

Se Jin took another step toward her. Still reeling from the earlier shock, Yura Jin retreated and stopped him,

“I’m asking you—don’t come any closer.”

“Yura…”

“Just practice well.”

“Yura! Yura!”

Convinced further conversation was pointless, Yura Jin quickly turned away.

Afraid he might block her path any second, she quickened her pace toward the practice room door—just as it suddenly swung open. Her fleeing body collided squarely with an unfamiliar chest.

“Aah!” Her startled cry was followed by a familiar, deep voice that flowed softly through her hair,

“Well, I didn’t expect such a warm welcome.”

Surprised by the unexpected voice, Yura Jin looked up—and met Baek Lee Hyun’s rare, beautifully curved eyes. Even more startled than before, her legs nearly gave out beneath her.

“Baek… Baek Lee Hyun?”

Chapter 115 Chapter 114

Having forgotten both his title and her usual “oppa” address, Yura Jin stammered his name. In response, a phrase she never imagined hearing from him floated toward her in the sweetest, gentlest tone imaginable,

“Yeah, sweetheart.”

His out-of-nowhere term of endearment narrowed Yura Jin’s brows in confusion.

“Huh?”

Lee Hyun’s arm naturally encircled her waist, and his downward gaze felt unusually hot. His lips, curved in a confident smile, moved just as mesmerizingly as his eyes.

“…Why that look on your face?”

A crack appeared in Lee Hyun’s expression. Though he asked as if he already knew something, Yura Jin was far more preoccupied with something else.

His behavior since their encounter felt so natural that even she nearly believed it was real. When had they grown close enough to use terms like “sweetheart”? And what was with this awkward embrace?

When Yura Jin shifted slightly to pull away, his grip only tightened—was this really the Baek Lee Hyun she knew? His absurd behavior had already erased Oh Se Jin’s unpleasant memory from her mind entirely.

“How did you even know I was here?”

“I asked at your office.”

Lies. Clearly obvious lies—but before she could frown at his audacity, a voice she’d momentarily forgotten pierced her ears,

“Yu… Team Leader Jin.”

Se Jin, about to call her by name, quickly corrected himself upon seeing the unfamiliar man. Unconsciously, his jaw clenched tight at the sight of this stranger holding Yura Jin.

The moment Lee Hyun lifted his head and met Se Jin’s eyes, Se Jin froze completely—as if turned to stone, unable to move from his spot.

“Isn’t it past your shift? Let’s go.”

His gaze, sharp as a blade and cold as ice, pierced straight into Se Jin. Every tiny movement radiated such overwhelming dominance—like a born ruler—that Se Jin nearly felt his breath stolen away.

Pulled along by Lee Hyun’s commanding demeanor, Yura Jin found herself led away in a daze.

“Huh? Oh—then, I’ll see you next time, Pianist Oh Se Jin.”

Even in the midst of this, her polite deference toward Se Jin remained unmistakably Jin Yoo Ra.

She had always valued manners, thought rationally, and acted accordingly. That composure had once been part of her charm—something Se Jin had loved—but now it only frustrated him.

“Ah, my car is—”

“I’ll call someone to take you home. Get in.”

After a brief hesitation over leaving her car behind, Yura Jin eventually got into the vehicle—a sight so unfamiliar even to herself.

As Lee Hyun walked around the hood to the driver’s seat after seating her in the passenger side, his chilly gaze never left Se Jin. Overwhelmed by that unshakable aura, Se Jin could only avert his eyes.

Moments later, with a loud engine roar, the car carrying Yura Jin drove off.

Se Jin grimaced, replaying Lee Hyun’s piercing glare in his mind, and clenched his fists tightly in frustration.

“Ugh… Baek Lee Hyun.”

Seizing his name with fury—as if wanting to tear him apart—Se Jin slammed both fists onto the innocent piano keys. The resulting clamor brought Jin Woo running from the backyard.

Inside the car speeding toward central Seoul, Yura Jin kept sighing heavily.

Though the situation had been sudden, she couldn’t shake the feeling of having been swept up unwillingly in Lee Hyun’s antics.

His words kept looping embarrassingly in her mind—even more jarring than Se Jin’s impulsive actions, Lee Hyun’s single phrase had left a deeper, more unsettling impression on her heart.

“‘Sweetheart’? To me?”

“Yeah. Sweetheart.”

She’d asked to understand his intention—but absurdly, Lee Hyun just kept smiling gently and repeated the exact same phrase. Yura Jin sighed again.

If she let this slide, he’d keep treating it like a joke. Straightening her expression, she lowered her voice firmly,

“Listen, Vice President Baek Lee Hyun.”

“We’re not at CH headquarters right now.”

She was bewildered—how could this usually cynical man even make playful remarks? It felt so unfamiliar that she rubbed her stiffening neck in frustration.

Rather than confronting him haphazardly, Yura Jin decided to address the question that had nagged her since the moment she saw him,

“How did you even know I was here? None of my colleagues knew my whereabouts.”

“I knew.”

Lee Hyun’s blunt, context-free reply deflated her completely.

Whether he found it hard to explain or simply didn’t want to, either way, he wouldn’t satisfy her curiosity. Dealing with this fox-like Baek Lee Hyun gave her a headache.

Though no one knew her destination, if it was Lee Hyun, she wasn’t surprised he’d used whatever means necessary—and she was certain he’d come only because Yoo Gun had asked him to.

“If you don’t want to explain, fine. But at least clarify this.”

“Clarify what?”

His uncharacteristic teasing and the reason he’d sought her out were things she could overlook. He’d always been eccentric—easy to read yet hard to pin down—so she could dismiss it as a harmless mishap.

But that “sweetheart” remark? No matter how she thought about it, it lingered like unfinished business, irritatingly scratching at her nerves.

“‘Sweetheart’? Since when am I your sweetheart? Why did you suddenly say that back there?”

“You looked like you needed help.”

Yura Jin shivered anew at Baek Lee Hyun’s uncanny intuition.

He’d always been quick to notice even the smallest changes in her expression or movements.

When she’d had period cramps, he’d silently brought painkillers. When she’d lost her wallet and was in trouble, he’d wordlessly handed her a card. She’d never asked for help, never showed her feelings openly—yet somehow, he always sensed her situation like a ghost.

Perhaps she’d recognized his exceptional instincts even back then. When she’d first heard he’d joined CH, she’d firmly believed that with him, reaching any goal would be effortless.

True to that belief, he’d leveraged his strengths brilliantly, turning every planned venture into success—and earned widespread praise for his natural business acumen.

And right now, too, Lee Hyun was relying on that same animal-like intuition about whatever had happened to her.

She admired his talent—but she didn’t want that sharp focus turned on her. Especially not for something so humiliating—her pride simply wouldn’t allow him to find out.
