Yura’s face flushed at Lee Hyun’s calm, offhand remark. For some reason, she felt as if she’d suddenly become something special—and it made her embarrassed. On top of that, she remembered Lee Hyun’s smiling face every time he’d called her “Baek Yeo Woo,” and her cheeks burned even hotter.

“Was that why you were in such a bad mood?”

Avoiding Lee Hyun’s gaze, Yura mulled over her previously sunken mood. There were many reasons why her heart felt so unsettled and chaotic. Oh Se Jin’s words kept echoing in her head, and Lee Hyun’s fleeting actions—which she’d barely registered at the time—were now becoming startlingly clear.

The way he’d casually asked after her well-being as if it were nothing, how he’d shown up out of the blue to have lunch with her, even Baek Lee Hyun’s expression when he and Yoo Gun had rushed over immediately after her accident.

Back then, she’d simply thought he’d been surprised—but now, recalling how Lee Hyun, who normally cared about nothing, had appeared with a pale, anxious face over her accident, still felt strange.

Before trying to decipher Lee Hyun’s ambiguous feelings, there was something else she needed to confirm first. So, in response to Lee Hyun’s question gauging her lingering low mood, Yura began pressing him again about Joo Hye Rim.

“Why did that woman suddenly come looking for you?”

“To make a deal.”

“What kind of deal?”

At Yura’s question, Lee Hyun met her eyes briefly, then took a sip from his glass of water. Yura didn’t rush him—she waited patiently for his lips to part again.

Lee Hyun hadn’t planned to reveal his deal with Joo Hye Rim right away, but he didn’t intend to hide it either. What really bothered him was having to mention that damn bastard’s name to Yura once more.

He didn’t want any other names brought into their conversation. But faced with Yura’s unwavering, determined stare, he finally threw up his hands in surrender.

“I repaid a favor from the past by taking over Oh Se Jin’s misconduct files. But the CEO of IF Management apparently told her to save Oh Se Jin at all costs.”

“Is that guy even sane?”

Yura shook her head in disbelief at the CEO’s outrageous lack of judgment—trying to resurrect someone he’d already ruined. It was absurd how shamelessly he wanted to erase that scoundrel’s sins as if they’d never happened.
