A Light Contract (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 23
On the last day of their short honeymoon, Yura prepared gifts for her team members.
She bought everything without missing a single item: basic local souvenirs, Team Leader Jung’s favorite essence, the cologne Sung Hoon always used, the lipstick Eun Young had liked, and even the limited-edition tumbler Ji Hye had wanted.
Yura also urged Lee Hyun, who had insisted on tagging along, to pick out gifts for the secretaries, but he brushed off her suggestion, saying he didn’t know what they needed and that a special bonus later would suffice.
Yura believed gifts carried a special meaning. Even something small and trivial made employees feel valued by their manager, and that feeling naturally deepened their respect and loyalty.
Of course, generous bonuses and praise could evoke similar sentiments, but if such an effect could be achieved with just a modest gift, she truly believed there was no better strategy.
Therefore, Yura never forgot to bring back gifts for her team, even on brief business trips. She consistently showed them she cared, maintaining their unwavering support.
After returning from their honeymoon, they visited both sets of parents-in-law and shared meals as if completing overdue assignments. After enduring the excruciating visits to both households, barely a day had passed.
Before her fatigue had even fully worn off, Yura gathered the gifts and headed to the office. Though her official return-to-work date was tomorrow, her urge to promptly catch up on pending tasks was stronger.
“Everyone, you’ve worked hard, haven’t you?”
“Team Leader! Aren’t you still on vacation until today?”
“I came early because I missed you all. These are thank-you gifts.”
Yura smiled brightly at her surprised teammates. What she kept secret was that she’d fled the office just to escape Baek Lee Hyun, who kept annoyingly clinging to her.
“Why go through the trouble of bringing us something like this? Thank you.”
“It’s nothing special. Just a token of my feelings.”
Seeing her team’s satisfied expressions, Yura was approached by Eun Young, whose face was filled with concern.

Xin Jiao Zhou: “???”
He fell ill.
She came to see him, bringing breakfast.
As she put down the breakfast and was about to leave, his hand slipped while holding the spoon. “Clank!”
She turned around upon hearing the noise.
He looked up at her, his eyebrows drooping: “My hand… has no strength.”
“Shall I… feed you?” she asked tentatively.
He opened his mouth cheerfully: “Ah—”
Thinking she was drowning, he jumped in without hesitation to save her, but nearly drowned himself. In the end, it was she who swam over to rescue him, giving him air underwater.
After emerging from the water, his ear tips turned red. He lightly brushed his cheek, tucking his sideburns behind his ear, revealing delicate, pink-tinged ear tips. He lowered his gaze, too embarrassed to look at her.
Xin Jiao Zhou: He’s truly beautiful, kind-hearted, and adorable.
