A Fallen Holy Knight Is Obsessed With Me (12 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 1
If there were a place abandoned even by gods and humans, it must have been this one.
The temple where she had met Lion.
Kasha walked alone across the marble floor stained with people’s blood.
“This place has been sealed. Leave at once.”
The Holy Knight warning her toward her had a wretched appearance.
Platinum hair grayed with dust. Eyes dulled of all spirit. A helmet missing its visor, rusted pauldrons dented and warped. Most of all, his right arm severed cleanly below the shoulder.
But it wasn’t only his outward appearance that was ruined.
“Ugh! Ngh! Hah… hah…”
During the days she stayed in the temple, he repeatedly lashed out at her, eyes bloodshot with fever.
“I told you… to leave… ngh! Aren’t you even afraid of me?”
“…….”
“You crave being ravaged by that beastly lecher, defiled and desecrated, don’t you? Is that your taste? Heh heh… ugh… ckh!”
Though his lust-clouded eyes drooled and his mouth spewed lewd obscenities, he never once laid a hand on Kasha.
He crawled like a dog across the marble floor, relieved his urges alone beneath the statue of the god, and shouted blasphemies to the heavens—but never once did he violate Kasha.
Kasha observed him from the shadows, her eyes dark, until his frenzy subsided.
He seemed aware of it too—that she was watching his every move.
Displaying his wretched, corrupted form, he sometimes seemed tormented, sometimes ashamed. And occasionally, when lust entirely consumed his mind, he even appeared to relish her gaze.
On the night of the full moon above the ruined temple,
the fallen Holy Knight and the crouching witch spent a long night watching each other.
On the evening his frenzy finally ceased, he lit a small campfire with a gaunt face. Kasha hesitated, then sat beside him. Too exhausted to chase her away, he let her stay.
They sat in silence, staring at the fire for a long while. Kasha finally broke the quiet.
“Um… I… I’m the witch… Kasha.”
Hearing her confession, he remained silent. Only the flickering firelight reflected in his once-celebrated amethyst eyes, replacing their former vitality.
“It was… me… who made you like this.”
At her faltering whisper, he finally turned to look at her. Though his cheeks were hollowed with wasting, he remained beautiful.
“So… you’re the witch Kasha?”
She nodded.
He studied her intently for a long time, then gave a brittle smile, dry as dead leaves.
“How absurd.”
And again, he fell silent.
‘…He doesn’t believe me.’
Kasha realized it. He simply couldn’t believe this pitiful-looking girl before him was the infamous witch Kasha.
Had he truly believed her, he might have drawn that rusted sword and run her through right then.
He didn’t recognize her.
Not now—and not even during their first meeting long ago, which he likewise didn’t remember.
It was only natural. Their encounter had been fleeting, and her presence—then as now—was insignificant.
But she remembered everything. Not a single detail forgotten.
That was why she couldn’t abandon him now, this man wandering like a beast discarded in this forsaken temple.
For three days and three nights, she kept speaking to him, fumbling for words, searching desperately for any way to help.
At first silent and tight-lipped, he eventually began uttering a word or two—then, all at once, spilled out everything.
Why, though?
Only later did she wonder—perhaps from that moment, he had already begun preparing for his own death. Regret over his fleeting life might have loosened his tongue.
Or perhaps he was simply struck by the earnest gaze of a woman who, despite his cursed and lust-ridden state, spoke to him without fear.
Three days passed swiftly. When Kasha finally heard his entire story, she said:
“I’ll save you.”
He stared at her, astonished—this time, her words came out perfectly, without hesitation.
“I mean it. I… I know how. Maybe… maybe I can lift your curse. So please, just….”
Still expressionless, he cut her off.
“No one can save another’s life.”
“But—”
Trending
“So go save your own life first. Mine is already ruined.”
At that exact moment, violent footsteps stormed into the silent temple.
“Witch Katyana Lyuschno, by order of His Highness the Crown Prince, you are to surrender for arrest!”
She was captured helplessly by the Imperial soldiers who burst into the temple.
“Is this girl truly the witch Kasha?”
Lion murmured, disbelief coloring his voice. But his eyes, as they met hers, quickly dulled again—as if even learning this insignificant girl was his sworn enemy held no meaning anymore.
Watching him, she pleaded desperately.
“I’ll… I’ll find a way somehow. Please, just survive. If you do….”
“Wait a moment. Isn’t that guy familiar? Lion Aranias, isn’t it? The fallen Holy Knight currently wanted by the Knight Order!”
One of the surrounding Imperial knights suddenly recognized Lion, and the Captain of the Knights lit up at his words.
“If we take his head too, His Highness the Crown Prince will grant us a great reward! He’s dangerous, but if we all strike together, we can win!”
“No…!”
Kasha turned deathly pale. But Lion only stared blankly into the air, expressionless.
“One squad escorts the witch immediately. The other finishes off Lion Aranias.”
As soldiers dragged her away, Kasha watched Lion weakly parry the knights’ blades with his lone arm.
She understood.
He would die right there.
He had already decided.
In that instant, a heartbroken sob burst from Kasha.
“Don’t die, please don’t die, Lion…!”
Don’t vanish so meaninglessly like this. If you die like that, even I won’t be able to believe I’m not the witch everyone claims me to be.
I’ll truly become that horrible witch they say I am.
Clang. Clang. Clang.
At the end of the savage, beast-hunt-like clamor, the knights’ triumphant cheers echoed faintly.
They had succeeded in their beast hunt.
Kasha left without witnessing Lion’s end.
And was immediately escorted to Arkin’s maximum-security prison, reserved for the vilest and most heinous criminals.
[This is the timeline separator]Three months later.
It was Kasha’s twenty-first birthday.
Winter wind howled fiercely through the bars. Along with it came the voices of people chanting her name.
“Execute the witch Kasha!”
“Kasha Lyuschno! Die! You wretched witch!”
“Give back my poor child! You demon—tearing you apart wouldn’t be enough!”
Though she had grown used to the curses hurled at her, the sorrow and pain in those voices still pierced her heart deeply, no matter how often she heard them. Kasha huddled over the spot where her frostbitten toes had fallen off and lowered her head.
Winter in the prison was cruelly cold. The dress she’d worn at arrest had long since turned to rags, offering no protection against the chill. Frostbite was devouring her body bit by bit, and her eyesight had deteriorated until she could barely see.
Cough. Cough.
As she coughed violently, as if her ribs might shatter, footsteps approached.
Kasha instinctively curled into an even smaller ball. Fear made her breath catch.
Just hearing the jailer’s footsteps made her teeth chatter uncontrollably.
No matter how often she endured torture, she never grew used to it. Every day they invented new torments, demanding answers she couldn’t give.
“Speak, you vile wench! What was your purpose in committing those monstrous acts?”
“Who was your accomplice?!”
“You infuriating, stubborn bitch!”
Creak. Clank.
The prison cell door opened. Someone entered and clicked their tongue upon seeing her trembling form.
“…Kasha. You’re a mess.”
A familiar voice. She snapped her head up—but her nearly blind eyes saw nothing.
“S-Simon?”
Her voice, ruined from screaming under torture until her vocal cords tore, now rasped like an old woman’s.

“Yes. It’s me, Kasha. Hah… even for a prisoner, this is… unbelievable.”
He clicked his tongue again. Kasha dragged her numb, frostbitten legs toward him. Though resentful he’d only appeared now, she was relieved—hope of escape had finally come.
“Simon… has everything… been cleared up now?”
“…….”
“I never… once said your name. No matter the torture… I never even opened my mouth.”
“Good girl. Still the same.”
“So….”
Please take me away from here. Please tell me this suffering I’ve borne alone is finally over.
“But even if you had spoken my name, Kasha, it wouldn’t have changed much.”
‘What?’
She couldn’t understand a word of his mocking tone.
“Kasha. Truthfully, it was all your doing, wasn’t it? All this talk about me forcing you—it’s just an excuse. Fundamentally, you’re the one who did it all. You built those killing magic devices. You separated the mana crystals’ curse.”
“No… no! I never knew those tools would be used like that—never knew they’d kill people! If I’d known, I’d never… never have built them, no matter how much you threatened me!”
Simon snickered.
“That’s exactly why you’re in this state. You actually believed those magic devices would only be used for hunting beasts.”
His mockery pierced Kasha’s heart. With the feeling of spitting blood, she pressed on.
“And separating the mana crystals’ curse—I never did it for that purpose! You know that! Yet not only did you take it from me, how could you use it for such evil? How could you do that to innocent people!”
Kasha screamed.
The rage and despair that had gnawed at her soul throughout her imprisonment finally erupted. It was a confession she’d never dared speak to anyone.
That she truly hadn’t known. That had she known her magic devices, her mana crystals, would be used like this, she’d never have obeyed him—no matter his threats.
How many times had she nearly broken down during torture—when they ripped out her fingernails one by one, shattered her joints, pressed red-hot tongs to her thighs—and wanted to confess everything?
The only reason she never did was simply this:
“Y-you’re my husband, Simon.”

When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
