Eun Woo held a black box in his hand and whispered,

“Returning to WS is an enormous challenge for me too, but I want to become someone worthy of you. That’s why I’ve decided to finally do what I’ve kept putting off until now.”

As Seul Hee listened to his quiet murmur, she gazed steadily at the box Eun Woo offered her. A memory from long ago surfaced—when he’d whispered his love to her and held out a necklace. It was exactly the same as that moment.

“I can wait as long as it takes.”

“…….”

“But I wanted you to know my decision. When you’re ready, Seul Hee, I’d like to marry you. If there are more joyful, happy moments like just now, I want to share them with you for the rest of my life. And though I hope such a day never comes, if there are hard times, I want to face those together with you too.”

That day, he’d given her a necklace in a black box just like this one.

“I thought long and hard about where to give it to you—a nice restaurant, a beautiful travel destination. But since this tiny two-pyeong space was where we began, I wanted our next beginning to be here too.”

At his words, Seul Hee nodded, and in that very moment, they had already promised each other their futures.

Everything was the same—yet the box Eun Woo held out to her today was far smaller than the one she’d received back then.

“You said you could wait, right? That you’d gladly wait however long I needed. But……”

Eun Woo continued, his voice sounding like a sigh.

“Now, I don’t think I can wait anymore.”

Once he left Dolmaree, the time they could spend together would shrink. It would no longer be possible to stay together all day, whispering love like they had until now. Turbulent times lay ahead.

“I want to spend even just a little more time with you—to open and close each day together. Not just passing time side by side, but making that promise to each other……”
