Pug Gom Gom’s Day.

My name is Gom Gom.

I’m a black pug, eight years old. I used to live way out in Mapo-gu, but somehow I now live in Gangnam-gu. My owner is Seul Hee noona.

Our Seul Hee noona is absolutely adorable, kind, and an amazing noona who works at an animal hospital. At first, I was extremely anxious and scared when I suddenly started living with her, but I’ve been having much better and happier days than back at my old home.

“Haah.”

Every morning when I wake up, I stretch out big first. Once I’ve shaken off the grogginess, I do one full lap around the room to check if anything happened in the house overnight. Noona’s room isn’t very big, so it only takes about thirty seconds to finish my inspection.

I must carefully check whether any intruders came in during the night or if anything fell over. Of course, there’s never been a problem even once, but I never skip this routine every morning.

Only after firmly confirming that nothing unusual happened overnight do I go to Seul Hee noona’s feet. When I nudge her feet, her small, pale soles move gently. Wriggle, wriggle.

Tap tap.

“Hmm.”

Still, noona doesn’t open her eyes. She made a sound but doesn’t get up.

I place my black paw on her again and tap tap once more.

“Gom Gom-ah… Noona went to bed really late last night…”

She buried her face into her pillow and mumbled sleepily.

Noona is heavy with morning sleepiness.
