49 Times Left, Master! (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 237
The man was the very one who had kidnapped me on my way back from the temple. He’d taken me because of my disciple, and upon learning who my master was, had grown even angrier, calling me a bat.
Why had my disciple come looking for this man?
“Who’s this? Isn’t it the illustrious loyal hound?”
That man again called Cheong Yang “loyal hound.” Perhaps because the disciple and I had our faces covered, he didn’t even glance our way.
“What brings the East Division Chief here? I heard you’ve been busy playing loyal hound.”
While the man sneered with a faint laugh, I peeked over my disciple’s shoulder.
“Didn’t your eldest disciple come to ask about your second disciple?”
Ignoring the man’s mockery, Cheong Yang asked.
‘Ah. So that man must be Lady Yehye’s master.’
“What’s it to you?”
The man shifted his posture, sounding displeased as he retorted.
“Tell your eldest disciple properly who that lady really is. Don’t deceive him. That’s why I came.”
“Why should you care about that? East and West Divisions of Heukwoon don’t interfere with each other. Have you forgotten the principle? Oh—has your identity as East Division Chief vanished now that you’ve become a loyal hound?”
While they exchanged sharp words, I held my breath, trying not to draw attention.
Then it suddenly struck me.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.

That’s a blessing ML is smart and the situation is probably will be resolved quickly, otherwise I would’ve rage flip because of that never ending misunderstandings.
I hoped that after main story ending they finally will stop that habit of lying in every little thing, it’s a pity I expected too much 🫠
I can understand ML’s jealousy, but really, why not to let his wifey pay her karmic debt and then live happily ever after?
