Kang silently stared at the unbelievable scene unfolding before her eyes.

Romie, lying on the floor, kept licking the nightmare’s skull clutched between her front paws, then biting it, rolling it around with her nose, and repeating the whole playful routine.

She turned to him, seated beside her, and asked,

“…Do beastkin eat nightmares too?”

“No.”

San laughed, as if to say, “Do we really need to fight over a food bowl?”

“Then what do you eat to survive?”

“They’re omnivores. They go crazy for human food too.”

His mention that Romie especially loved meat brought back the image of her at the restaurant.

Back then, she’d just seemed like a hearty eater—but now, recalling it again, she’d actually devoured an enormous amount of meat.

As if realizing they were talking about her, Romie perked up her ears and lifted her head.

Their eyes met, and Kang flinched.

In response, Romie stuck out her tongue, grinned widely, and wagged her fluffy tail.

She looked just like a puppy begging to play.
