“……Oh my.”
Her ‘oh my’ carried multiple implications.
Why would he be embracing a human woman if they weren’t dating?
Moreover, even thinking about dating a human was so like Lomi.
But there was more on Lomi’s mind than that.
To her, the way San held Kang and his movements were very delicate, as if he was handling something precious.
And most importantly…
‘With that kind of look, you’re saying you’re not dating?’
She had clearly seen the affection dripping from his eyes when he looked at Kang.
Lomi felt there must be something more between them, having never seen San like that before.

After a moment of contemplation, she spoke again,
“But master,”
“Yes?”
“I think it’d be okay if you two dated.”
He looked at her, and she beamed.
“You two look really good together.”
“Really?”
“Yes. It reminded me of when Sir Illy and Lady Moa were dating.”
Instead of replying, San smiled.
She continued,

“Do you know, master?”
“What?”
“The more I see, the more you resemble Sir Illy.”
“It’s natural for a son to resemble his father.”
“But sometimes, when you smile, you remind me of Lady Moa too.”
“She’s my mother.”
Lomi nodded as if realizing an obvious fact.
San always found her naive nature endearing.
Gently patting Lomi’s head, his gaze shifted to the distance.
“Anything happened?”

“There was!”
She began to excitedly recount the earlier events in great detail.
“I was hunting a dream creature and suddenly it seemed like it started raining. But, when I looked closer, it wasn’t rain, it was the creature’s saliva, right?”
Eek.
Even thinking about it again made Lomi shudder as if feeling nauseated. She continued,
“There must have been about fifty of them? They gathered so high in the sky and then suddenly dispersed and disappeared.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes. If I had caught them, there wouldn’t have been a trace left.”
She chuckled, probably thinking they sensed her presence and fled. She shrugged and raised her chin.
It seemed she wanted some affection.
San gently caressed Lomi’s chin with a smile.

Since nothing major happened, there was no need to bring up any upsetting matters.
He let her savor her moment of triumph, then quietly warned her,
“Still, be careful.”
“Why?”
“When the lower-tier dream creatures start gathering in such numbers, it often signals that the higher-tier ones will soon make their move.”
“Are you worried about me, Lomi?”
“Yes. It’s important that you don’t get hurt.”
Looking at his gentle and beautiful smile, Lomi’s eyes seemed to fill with warmth.
Such unmatched sweetness.
She vowed, time and again, to devote herself and remain loyal to him till the end.

San shifted his gaze and quietly observed Kang’s sleeping face.
In her innocent slumber, she looked extremely serene.
He felt the urge to ensure Kang’s peace and happiness for a very long time.
He figured that it would be best to stick by her side daily for the foreseeable future.
He couldn’t shake off the feeling that things were rapidly changing ever since Sapharo’s death.
And as he mentioned to Lomi, it implied that ‘that creature’ had started to act on its own.
Today’s shoot was divided between Team B, which was scheduled for outdoor filming, and Team A for indoor filming.
Hence, the place wasn’t too crowded.
Early in the morning, after the first take,
Kang from Team A was checking the script when the assistant director approached her.

“Oh? Where did your manager go?”
“He probably went to the restroom.”
“Alright. We’ll start filming on time. Is that okay?”
“Yes, understood.”
After delivering the schedule, he approached Shin Hwi who was seated elsewhere.
Unlike his usual energetic demeanor, Shin Hwi seemed to be dozing off in his chair.
Known for his intense rehearsals, he probably practiced throughout the night for today’s scenes.
The assistant director gently awakened Shin Hwi, who got up quickly and engaged in a conversation with his usual bright smile.
Kang observed Shin Hwi from a distance.
A few words were exchanged, and once the assistant director left, the smile on Shin Hwi’s face faded.

He clearly looked more exhausted than usual.
As he was collecting his script and rising from his seat, a small plastic container fell out of his jacket pocket and rolled on the floor.
“Ah… there!”
Kang, who noticed this, quickly called out, but Shin Hwi, seemingly not hearing her, continued on his way.
By the looks of it, he was probably heading to the restroom before the shoot.
In the spot where he left the bottle, Kang approached and picked it up.
“What is this?”
It was an ordinary plastic container with no label on it.
“It doesn’t seem to be gum.”
She shook it slightly and the sound of pills rattling inside could be heard.
Kang looked around, but she couldn’t see Shin Hwi’s manager. It seemed he too had left his spot.

She considered placing the container back where he had sat, but a staff member approached and removed the chair.
“Excuse me. I need to clear this space for movement.”
“Oh, okay.”
With no other choice, Kang slipped the container into her pocket.
She decided she would return it to him directly when he came back.
