“In truth, the twins threw a huge fit the moment you left. I still have no idea how they even knew you’d gone out.”

“Really? That must’ve been tough to calm them down.”

“I knew our daughter had a strong voice, but I had no idea it was *this* intense.”

Even without seeing it, the image automatically formed in her mind—Soo Ah crying and throwing a tantrum loud enough to shake the world.

“How did you calm her down?”

“I solved it with money.”

“With money?”

“I anticipated a day like this, so I bought a bunch of character dolls she’d love. You know how she adores new releases.”

Speaking in hushed tones, the two quietly entered the nursery where Soo Ah had just fallen asleep. Beside her lay toys she’d been playing with moments before—brand-new ones she’d never seen.

Even though she was still very young, Soo Ah wouldn’t glance twice at toys she’d already played with. She had no attachment to any particular plush or comfort blanket—she only reacted to completely new toys.

Seo Yeon had worried about this and refrained from introducing new toys for a while, but remembering how her husband had quietly collected them one by one, thinking of their daughter, brought an involuntary smile to her lips.

Shifting her gaze from the peacefully sleeping Soo Ah, Seo Yeon turned toward Sung Jun, raised both hands, and gave him two enthusiastic thumbs-up.

“Well done.”

Sung Jun responded with a proud expression.

Finding her husband utterly adorable, Seo Yeon continued, whispering softly so as not to undo his efforts and risk waking the children:
